Ella (Aimee Garcia) arrives to a crime scene all chipper and happy, her normal Ella self, and greets each person a good morning. Once inside the house Ella starts taking photos when she receives a phone call from her little brother while Lucifer (Tom Ellis) takes her camera and starts taking pictures. As she takes it from her, Chloe (Lauren German) asks if she’s okay when Ella tells them about the phone call she received and about how she maybe moving back to Detroit. Chloe tells her that she’s trying to be supportive while Lucifer tells her that he’s not and informs Ella she can’t move, but he is cut short with a look from Chloe allowing Ella to tell them about their victim. Ella recreates how their victim died and when she’s done Lucifer tells her that it’s why she can’t leave because then crime scenes would be dull.

Dan (Kevin Alejandro) is driving a shaken-up Beckett (Madeleine Coghlan) to the station after she finds the body and when he asks if she tried to wipe up the blood he says no and that maybe a slushy would be nice to which he agrees to. Ella is about to leave the crime scene when she spots blood on the door and opens it to find a shaken boy with blood on his hands. Chloe talks to Felix’s (Aiden Lewandowski) dad Anthony (Jose Yenque) who explains that Felix had brought his violin to his session and forgot it, so he let Felix ride his bike back to get it. He also informs Chloe that Felix doesn’t do well with talking with strangers. Ella, who sits down next to Felix, starts talking to him by asking if she can help him get the blood off his hands and tells him a story of when she was his age she was in a car accident and that she knows how scary it can be. She says it’s going to be okay and he tells Ella that he didn’t see who did it, which Ella thanks him for.

Once Ella starts going through the evidence when she hears a voice. Ella is shocked to find Ray-Ray (Charlyne Yi), her childhood friend, who happens to be a ghost. Ella asks why she’s there and that she thought they agreed to never see each other again. It seems that they agreed on it five years ago in Detroit so Ella tells her to go away when Chloe comes in asking if she should come back at another time. Ella is quick to say she’s fine and that Chloe didn’t come at a bad time. It seems that she’s talking to herself and the evidence. Ella informs Chloe that the clump of hair under the victim’s fingernails was fake fur with ketchup. Ray-Ray and Ella talk about how seeing her again isn’t normal and that in LA she feels normal. Ray-Ray tells Ella that she’s there to help her with the work stuff and that she knows the victim from the other side. Ella caves and allows Ray-Ray to come along with the agreement that when the case is over Ray-Ray leaves her alone.

Dan goes to Lucifer because Beckett ran away and stole his phone. He asks Lucifer to help him and then asks if he’s going to make fun of him all day to which Lucifer tells him of course to both. Chloe, Ella and Ray-Ray go back to the crime scene and split up after an awkward moment with the three. Ella opens a closet door and finds the costume that matched the fur found under the victim’s nails. Chloe brings the voice machine that reveals a threatening message to the victim. Chloe uses the costume and goes undercover while Ella is in the van with Ray-Ray. Ella asks her to communicate with her so she spins in the chair and says she can’t get through. Ella comes to the conclusion that Ray-Ray doesn’t actually know the victim. Meanwhile, Chloe is still asking other costume goers if they know Wesley when out of nowhere she is tackled to the ground. As Chloe and this mystery woman fight, the crowd gather around. When Ella sees what’s happening she takes off out of the van in time to see Chloe take the hat off and reveal her badge. At the station, Iris (Nadine Ellis) reveals to them that Wesley Wolf was her OC (Original Character) and that Beth stole the idea from her. She also tells Chloe that she confronted Beth and that she did know that she got into an argument with someone at her office.

Lucifer and Dan end up at Six Flags where Lucifer tracked Dan’s phone. He again mocks Dan for losing Beckett. Dan reveals he hates amusement parks and tells Lucifer why he doesn’t like them. Lucifer stops and informs Dan he gets to relive the past and when he finds Beckett he hops into the car. Beckett hops out right before they lower the bars and goes to run before Lucifer stops her. The roller coaster starts to move.

Ella and Ray-Ray go back to the crime scene again with fresh eyes. Ella tells Ray-Ray she doesn’t know why she’s there and that it’s time for her to go. Ray-Ray reveals that she’s there to stop Ella from moving back home because of her leech brother living there and that the people in LA don’t take advantage of her. As they talk there is juggling with the door and they hide as a man in a mask comes in. Ella opens the blinds in the closet, which was a fatal mistake on her end leading the man to open the closet door. Ella’s uses her quick thinking with her flashlight and blinds the man enough to let her go and use a broom on him. He runs away, and Ray-Ray says that Ella let him go.

Lucifer is talking to the lady at the vendor station when Dan walks up all nauseous from the ride. Dan thanks him for catching Beckett, which Lucifer thanks him and reveals his shirt with Dan’s picture on it. Lucifer says they have enough for everyone at the station. Lucifer is stopped short though when he loses Beckett as well as his car keys and Dan’s badge. Chloe and Ella go over security footage, which shows a bumper sticker with a school’s name on it. They head to the school where they talk to the music teacher who reveals that he was in the office to get a check from Beth because Felix was one of his most gifted students and he was hoping he’d take him with him when Felix rose to stardom. They talk about Beckett when the music teacher reveals he almost ran over her on her scooter because she was ditching first period. Chloe calls Dan to see where he and Beckett are, and he tells her that she’s with him as he runs after Lucifer’s car and hangs up the phone. When the car gets away from him, Lucifer walks up to Dan and asks why he didn’t run. Lucifer reveals that he’ll get the car back unlike Dan’s dignity. He tells Lucifer that it’s bigger than they thought and that Beckett is a suspect. Lucifer reveals that there is only one person who is good enough at tracking humans as he makes the call Dan is pleading with him to hang up. Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) arrives asking what they did this time.

After telling Maze what happened she laughs at them, which Dan asks Lucifer that it isn’t so funny when someone makes fun of him. Lucifer tells Dan it’s annoying when Maze does it and asks if she’s going to help them to which she says yeah because she has to meet the girl. Maze and the group find her at LUX trying to use Dan’s badge to get alcohol. Maze pulls Beckett from her seat who tells them that she lied to get out of class but had a lead because she’s allergic to a type of perfume and that there was a ton of it at Beth’s office. Chloe goes to see Maze who is in deep thought and scares her when she apologizes for being so jumpy. Maze begins to tell Chloe what’s wrong before suddenly changing her mind. Chloe tells Ella that if she decides to leave the station and everyone including herself will not be the same. Chloe tells Ella that she has a lead on who their next suspect is and they head to the home of Sofia Rodriguez, Felix’s mother. Ella tells Chloe that she’ll meet her inside and tells Ray-Ray to just gloat about being a chicken. Ray-Ray tells her she understands why she didn’t do it. Ella tells her that if her friends here ever looked at her like she was strange she would never get over it. She suddenly sees a dumpster in the neighbor’s yard and takes off running. Inside, Ella and Chloe talk about Beth and Felix and how Beth was encouraging him to branch out. At least that’s what her husband told her to which Chloe asks where he is. Ella and Ray-Ray go dumpster diving for a murder weapon because a construction dumpster would be the perfect place to toss one. Ella continues to search when she finds the murder weapon and dried blood only to have Ray-Ray yell duck as Anthony swings at her from the top of the dumpster with a baseball bat.

Ella continues to dodge the swings from Anthony when suddenly Chloe comes up behind them with her gun causing him to stop. He tells them that he sent Felix to Beth to help him and all she wants him to do is play the violin more. He believes that it’s not normal, to which Ella tells him that it makes Felix amazing. When the case is over, Ella tells Chloe the truth about Ray-Ray and how she sees ghost and that she hopes that is what it is because if it’s not she’s legit crazy. Chloe tells her that it’s a lot to process but she doesn’t think she’s crazy and that she’s seen a lot of crazier things so there is nothing she could tell her that would change how she feels about Ella. When Chloe asks Ella if there’s any news on the move back home Ella tells her that she’s not leaving. Ray-Ray says goodbye to Ella, but Ella stops her and asks her if she’s always looking out for her. Ella agrees to let her check in on her from time to time.

At the station, Lucifer reveals a poster with Dan’s picture on it. He goes to tell Lucifer bye and says something that he’s heard before. He arrives at his penthouse when he tells Azrael to show herself, revealing Ray-Ray. He asks her why Ella knows about her and is told the story of Ella’s car accident and how she didn’t want to leave because there was something about Ella. Ray-Ray tells him that she sent her to LA to be with Lucifer because she thought her two favorite people should be together since she couldn’t be with either one of them. Lucifer goes to see Ella and asks how everything is going because he heard she’s going to be staying with them. She starts going on her nerd ranting and tells him that he’s probably just being nice and stops, but Lucifer tells her that he’s actually interested and tells her to continue as Azrael watches from a distance.
