A bleeding Lucifer (Tom Ellis), a stoned Ella (Aimee Garcia) making out with Eve (Inbar Lavi) and Chloe (Lauren German) who claims the “answer” is in a hoagie in LUX. But how did we get here? We flashback to 36 hours earlier.

Eve and Lucifer are hanging out in Lucifer’s apartment, mostly naked. Eve comments that it’s great to finally have a boyfriend who appreciates fun, which freaks out Lucifer. So, this becomes the topic of his therapy session with Linda (Rachael Harris). He and Eve have been fooling around a lot, but Lucifer didn’t realize it was serious. Linda wonders if Eve’s attempt to define their relationship scares him. She also questions if it’s really just as Lucifer says fun because Eve’s sort of living with him.

Lucifer claims he’s just helping out a friend, but he doesn’t know what to do. Lucifer thinks Eve is great, but he’s not a relationship guy. Linda points out he was ready to try with Chloe before the homicidal priest of it all. Lucifer points out how that ended. The good doctor says sometimes when something doesn’t work out we shut down until we resolve the leftover feelings. She says how abruptly Lucifer’s partnership with Chloe ended may have left him with a lack of closure.

Speaking of Chloe, she meets up with Ella at a crime scene. There’s a dead guy named Derek. Derek was seemingly killed in a crime of passion. Speaking of passion, how’s Lucifer? Ella ships his relationship with his partner and is encouraging Chloe to try and make up with him because she clearly misses him. Chloe says fine, when the time is right. She chats up some nosey neighbors and then has a talk with Dan (Kevin Alejandro). Derek collected expensive vintage cars. The guy he outbid for his newest car sent him some threatening messages. He was a part of this club of collectors, but they’re exclusive and if you try to serve them with a warrant then they’ll stall you with Lawyers according to Ella. A fancy car is the golden ticket. So, it looks like the time is right to talk to Lucifer.

Chloe goes to his apartment and gets an eye full of Lucifer and Eve. Trying to keep things professional, she says she knows things are weird between them but she could use his help. At first, he’s ready to say no, but then he realizes that this could be a chance for closure. Lucifer decides he’ll help, but this will be their last case together ever.

Lucifer and Chloe go to the special car club. Chloe is explaining the case and Lucifer is trying to savor the moment. Lucifer calls out a man named Kevin (Michael Lanahan) as the killer and when he runs stops him by hitting him with a tire.  Lucifer asks him what he desires, but it turns out Kevin just wants to tell the truth so that he doesn’t go down for murder. It seems that he sells fake vintage cars. If it gets out then he’ll be ruined and also it’s sort of illegal. He swears though he didn’t kill Derek and that he was only threatening to kill his reputation. But there was another scary guy after Derek…

Amenadiel goes to Lucifer’s apartment to return an inappropriate baby gift from his brother and runs into Eve. She says Lucifer is out and Amenadiel’s instinctively suspicious. He’s worried that Eve has hurt Lucifer, but why would she do that? Well, Amenadiel points out that Lucifer killed her son Cain. Eve says she met Charlotte Richards on her way out of Heaven and she seemed lovely – as lovely as her other son Abel whom Cain killed. The way she sees it whatever Lucifer did to Cain he deserved. Valid point, but Amendiel wonders what if she can’t go back to Heaven after rejecting it. Why would she want to go back Eve wonders since she’s having fun with Lucifer. But what happens when the party stops? Eve is not convinced it ever will.

At the station Lucifer’s saying his final goodbyes to the cops. This makes Ella sad, but Chloe is not convinced. She says he’s just being dramatic as crazy gestures are how he works through issues. Ella hopes she’s right and says he’ll just hang out with a few party girls and then things will go back to normal. But Chloe says actually there’s only one girl. Chloe says that’s bad, but Chloe insists she’s not worried. Or is she?

Lucifer breaks in on the conversation and they ID a guy named Sid. Lucifer says he’ll really miss this when the case is over. When the duo go to Sid’s house Chloe gently says this doesn’t have to be Lucifer’s last case, but he insists it does. It’ll be for the best, but first they need closure. Chloe wants to dig deeper, but then Lucifer finds a clue. Unfortunately, though, it means the killers not there. There’s a spot of blood in the driveway and it seems Sid’s dead. Back to the drawing board!

Back at the station they’re trying to connect the dots when Ella swoops in and connects them on their behalf. She says the killer has to be a guy named Marco (Rigo Sanchez) who served in Iraq with Sid and Derek. Ten years ago, Derek went away for a bank robbery yet his accomplices were never caught. He was released a few days ago so Ella says the motive was probably revenge. Neither Lucifer nor Chloe are happy that the case is over. Chloe tries again to tell Lucifer that he doesn’t have to leave, but Lucifer insists that yes he really does. He tells Chloe that it was a great last case.

Later at Lux Ella shows up to talk to Eve. At first, she seems intent on telling Eve to back off, but then Eve says Lucifer has told her how amazing Ella is. Ella doesn’t stand a chance against Eve’s charm, which is frustrating for her because she’s rooting for Chloe. They bond and somehow end up doing Molly together.

Above the club Amenadiel has been waiting for Lucifer. He’s worried about the Eve situation, but Lucifer says there’s nothing to worry about as he can’t corrupt her twice. Amenadiel says he’s not worried Lucifer will hurt Eve, but that Eve will hurt Lucifer. He says Lucifer has grown while he been in LA with Eve. Amenadiel worries he’ll regress to the old Lucifer who loved chaos. Lucifer is not sure which man he wants to be. The case was supposed to give him clarity, but no such luck.

Speaking of the case, it’s not so over. Chloe shows up to tell Lucifer that Marco is MIA. He goes to get his jacket and Chloe gets to know Eve better. While they’re talking Chloe realizes that Eve is Eve from The Bible. While Chloe is trying to wrap her head around the fact that Eve is Lucifer’s ex from the beginning of time, Marco comes in wielding a gun. Lucifer comes back and tries to kick him out and gets shot in the chest. Since Chloe makes him vulnerable, this actually really hurts him.

Chloe offers herself up as a hostage and begs Marco to let everyone else go, but Marco won’t go for it. Marco says he doesn’t want to hurt people, but he just needs help. He demands Chloe help him find his ex-wife. She disappeared after the bank robbery. Marco wants Chloe to find her so he can make amends. If they don’t find the wife, he won’t let everyone go.

Dan and Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) head off in search of the wife, whose name was Leona (Jessy Schram). Dan doesn’t know what she changed her name to, but hopes Maze can put her bounty hunting skills to good use. Dan starts talking about warrants, but Maze says they have to do this her way. They’re off.

Inside LUX Lucifer is not doing so well. Chloe’s taking stock of their situation and this doesn’t look good. Lucifer is out of commission, Ella’s too high to help and Eve doesn’t have any super powers. Chloe says they have nothing, but Eve says they’ve got Chloe. She just needs to come up with a plan. Chloe tells Eve to take care of Lucifer and she’s going to find the bomb. Ella can defuse it, but she needs to sober up so Lucifer produces cocaine. This should be interesting.

In the hostage situation that’s still happening Eve and Chloe get to know each other a little better. Chloe wonders if Eve has seen Lucifer’s devil face and if it scares her. Eve has and it doesn’t. Chloe has trouble understanding how – more on the Adam and Eve of it all. Eve was created just to be someone’s wife and no one felt the need to ask her if that’s what she wanted, except for Lucifer.

As best she can (she’s super high) Ella tries to convince Lucifer to stay. He and Chloe are great together. While Ella lays out the benefits of a “Deckstar” partnership Chloe figures out where the bomb is.

Elsewhere Dan and Maze track down Leona, who has changed her name to Amy. At first, she wants nothing to do with her old life. Maze is down to drag her to LUX kicking and screaming if necessary, but Dan tries to appeal to her better nature. He says he gets that this is probably her worst nightmare, but there are people he loves inside and he can’t take another loss. If she talks to Marco she could save a lot of people. Reluctantly, she agrees.

Back at LUX Ella is freaking out and so is the gunman. He wants to talk to Leona and Dan screwed up the food order. But Chloe realizes it wasn’t a mistake because the sandwiches contain a message – they’ll enter through the southeast side of the building.

Outside Leona’s being prepped. They suggest she use a walkie-talkie, but she wants to go inside. She says this’ll only work if they see each other fact to face. Dan says it’s too dangerous, but Leona says it’s the only way.

Chloe says the food is the beginning of the end. They’ll swarm the video in ten minutes according to protocol, but if they don’t defuse the bomb before then it’ll be a bloodbath. Luckily, they’re granted a distraction. Leona walks in and apologizes to Marco. She says everything’s all her fault. She says Marco didn’t deserve what happened to him. He hugs her and then she stabs him in the stomach. Chloe than asks for the gun, but wait! Marco was never the mastermind; it was Leona all along. And she’s bent on blowing up the building. She wants to tie up loose ends.

Chloe doesn’t talk her down. But luckily, with some intense encouragement from Eve, we see that Ella manages to defuse the bomb. And the police storm the building save the day.

Lucifer gets medical attention and decides, to Chloe’s relief, that maybe he’ll stick around. Ella tells Dan she’s now not only just mad at God, but she’s convinced he’s not real.

When the chaos dies down Chloe asks Amenadiel to come over. She needs some perspective. It’s always been her job to read people, but she feels her judgement has been screwed as of late. She asks Amenadiel if Eve is dangerous. Amenadiel has concerns, but he tells her no. Chloe admits she likes Eve and thinks she might be good for Lucifer. Amenadiel tells Chloe that despite everything it’s impressive that she only cares about what’s best for the people around her. He tells her that it’s why her father’s so proud. She starts to tell him her father has been dead for years and then remembers that he’s an angel and starts to tear up.

At LUX Lucifer’s healed up and figures he’ll give being Eve’s boyfriend a shot.
