Q) What was it about “High’rd Help” that really made you want to be a part of it?

A) What attracted me to the project was Emily [Neiman] and Olivia [D’Agostino]. From my first impression, I knew that they were strong and talented women that I wanted to work with in any capacity. To this day I am so grateful for the opportunity they gave me and I hope to work with them even more.

Q) Was there anything you added to your role as Charlie that wasn’t originally scripted for you?

A) With Charlie, I wanted to add a sense of playfulness. So, I added quirks in places where they would be subtle. Things like little smiles or laughs, winks, etc. I also created a character background for her. As an actor, the script gives you enough information to understand the character, but my job was to bring Charlie to life and part of that was creating a backstory and character biography to make Charlie a real person.

Q) As a guardian angel, what makes Charlie the perfect fit to help Ava?

A) Charlie is perfect fit for Ava (Carina Newton) because they compliment each other. They have more in common then they think and their differences force them to challenge each other and step outside of their comfort zones.

Q) We learned in the finale that Charlie had a girlfriend in the 50’s, which was a less accepting time. What were some of the obstacles that she faced with her relationship?

A) Probably the same types of discrimination that happened to people in the real world in the 1950’s. (Keep in mind, however, most things I say about Charlie’s backstory are my own interpretation of Emily and Olivia’s script.) In my interpretation, Charlie and her partner tried their best to keep their sexualities a secret. But, of course, people make their own speculations and assumptions and as a result comes the discrimination. That was probably Charlie’s biggest obstacle, because it affected how she saw herself and her choices – in a negative way. I can’t imagine the kind of fear people felt as being LGBTQ in any time other than the present.

Q) What were some of your most memorable moments from filming “High’rd Help?”

A) There are so many, I could go on forever. But my favorite moment was on the first day of filming when we all sat down as a cast and crew to have lunch together. We all chatted and bonded. But what was the funniest part of that lunch was how we all talked about the moment in each of our lives when we figured out our sexualities. It was a real bonding moment for all of us.

Q) What part of Charlie’s back story do you hope gets explored for her in Season 2?

A) I really hope we get to see more of how she died and what specifically she did to be in limbo. But also I know that whatever we do find out will blow our minds because Emily and Olivia are fantastic and will write a great season 2.

Q) What do you want to be sure fans know about Charlie?

A) She may be tiny, but she’s powerful.
