Q) How would you describe your music?

A) Alternative, thought-provoking with a dust of vintage.

Q) What is your song writing process?

A) It usually starts with a melody. I either play around on my ukulele or acoustic guitar. I like to pick a few words and phrases with the melody so that I can set the tone and establish the topic I’d like to write about. The final lyrics are always written after I’ve recorded all the instruments.

Q) What was the inspiration behind your new single “One!″ and where did the idea for the song first come to you?

A) “ONE” was inspired by the idea of uniting as one. I think no matter where we are in the world, we as human beings are all quite similar. The song is also about finding the strengths to fight back. Trying to make a positive difference in society. Forgetting about all of our differences and uniting together as one.

Q) How did the process of writing the tracks for this EP, Hurl, compare to other singles you’ve written in the past?

A) For this EP the process was a little bit different as the songs came about in different sessions and studios between London and São Paulo. They were also mixed in different places. I started writing and recording about two years ago. The EP is a register of different timelines with different people. I also worked with two producers. Mauro Motoki and Fabio Pinczowski.

Q) You just recently released your new EP, Hurl. What are some themes you will explore on it?

A) Greed, power, oppression and fear in our society.

Q) What are some songs on it that hold a special place in your heart and why?

A) All of the songs on this EP are special to me, but I especially love “ONE” and “JuVenTuDe.” They were actually the two last songs I recorded on this EP. I was extremely happy with the outcome with both songs. I really love the feel good vibes I get whilst listening to both of them. I hope people can pick up on the same energy whilst listening.

Q) Is there a full-length album in the works and if so, what can you tell us about it?

A) I’m going to be releasing my album this coming August. I’m still in the recording process, I can’t give away too much right now, so you’ll have to stay tuned!

Q) What is the biggest takeaway that you hope listeners get from this song?

A) I hope they can feel uplifted, warm and inspired!

Q) How has the lockdown impacted you creatively?

A) I would have to say positively. I have always been inspired by visual things. Physical art, films or books. I love reading and I’ve really been able to do so much of that. I’ve also had the time to watch movies/documentaries and really immerse myself into the storyline and find a connection with what I’m seeing. This has definitely helped spark inspiration which leads to me scribble down on a piece of paper or make notes on my phone.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) There are quite a lot but at the moment I would have to say, Ben Harper, Sharon Van Etten, St. Vincent, Albert King, Sufjan Stevens, Thundercat and Wilco to name a few!

Q) Who would you love to collaborate with on a future project?

A) Ooo! I’d have to say Bob Dylan, St Vincent, Ben Harper and Thundercat.

Q) With concerts currently on hold, do you have any plans for live streaming performances?

A) Yes! We are actually in the works of organizing a live streaming concert for my EP HURL. It’s going to be taking place at the end of March. We will be releasing all the details via my Instagram page over the next upcoming days.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of your music?

A) Firstly, thanks for supporting me! Music has the great ability to bring people together and to heal, so let’s keep supporting art and spreading good vibes.
