“Enough Bad Luck” is dedicated to my friends who are living through their own personal Book of Job. Life’s cruel sense of humor has saddled them with lost loved ones, devastating breakups, tyrannical bosses, and staggering medical bills all at once. This song is supposed to be a comfort to them, but it’s also a sad acknowledgement that asking “why?” doesn’t guarantee any answers. But even if we’re resigned to an unfair fate, maybe we can write songs for each other to ease the burden just a little bit.
Matt Jaffe is a rock & roll singer/songwriter from San Francisco. Cutting his teeth on countless open mics around the Bay Area, Matt started taking music (a little bit) more seriously when Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads offered to produce his first record. Since then, Matt has continued to churn out more songs than he can remember the words to, oversaturate the market with gigs (opening and/or touring with the likes of Mavis Staples, Wilco, Bob Weir, Jackie Greene, Melissa Etheridge, and Blues Traveler, and collaborate with Tom Higgenson of the Plain White T’s. With his band, Matt has played stages across the country including The Fillmore, The Troubadour, and Irving Plaza. Fresh off the release of his fourth LP, Undertoad, Matt is already back in the studio, street-teaming with the best of them to bring the guitar gospel to the masses. Look for him on tour with Chuck Prophet in the Fall.
