Q) Tell us the story behind your new song “Where It All Began.”

A) This song is about those moments where you question yourself and ask if you have what it takes and if you can really change the things around you for the better. All of these initial ideas and dreams start somewhere small and then begin to expand out.

Q) “Where It All Began” is one of six tracks off your debut album Dream State. What made it the perfect song to release first?

A) I wanted this song to highlight the beginning of a journey. And this song is like an origin story of where my love for music and drive to be a singer all began.

Q) You are a part of social media. What kind of fan feedback have you been receiving to the song so far?

A) It has been so nice! Really cool seeing that the music video has gotten over 100,000 views on YouTube so far. The music video really goes along well with the dance vibe from the song.

Q) What are some themes you explore on this new album?

A) A variety of themes! Success, heartbreak, nostalgia, relief. All different cycles that you go through in life.

Q) What song(s) hold a special place in your heart and what makes them so significant to you?

A) I would say “Dream State” is because it was my first song to ever be added to official Apple music playlists and YouTube music playlists! That made me really proud inside.

Q) What track challenged you the most creatively for the album?

A) “Another Life” did because I tried out some new harmonies and vocal styles in that song. I really like how it blended with the strings of the song.

Q) Which song(s) are you looking forward to performing live?

A) “And I’m Okay” is really sweet to perform live because of how all the instruments really rise up and come together around the conclusion of the song.

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from exploring your new album as a whole?

A) I hope that they are able to feel the messages that I was expressing through the songs. I hope it’s something they can listen to and understand the emotions through their own life.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) It would be a dream to work with Lizzo! She has such strong and powerful vibes that she spills into all her songs. I’ve always been drawn to those artists who don’t hold back and just belt it out. She’s giving so much to the music industry right now with her amazing energy.

Q) What advice would you give to up-and-coming musicians?

A) I would tell aspiring musicians to not dread the “tedious” work that you need to get down. When you are pursuing music, you want to jump straight to the point when you are performing on stage all the time, but there are so many things that need to be done before you can get to that point. I would say to develop strong routines in order to keep growing as a musician. And stay inspired!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I am super grateful for them supporting my passion. It means a lot that they can connect with what I’m writing, and it encourages me to continue being myself and being vulnerable in my music.
