Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I will say my sound is very versatile. I love all elements of music. Music is a feeling and so I can vibe and sing to any genre of music.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) I love the sound of EFYA, Whitney Houston and Beyoncé.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Summa Dis Summa Dat.”

A) I love to dance, and I include a lot of dancing in my performances and music videos and so I decided to do a song that screamed dance as soon as you heard it. The title “Summa Dis Summa Dat” itself is the name of a Jamaican dance.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) Ghanaians love to dance! So, they connect straight away to that crazy upbeat dance vibe the song has.

Q) The original version of “Summa Dis Summa Dat” was released two years ago. What made you decide now was the time for a remix?

A) The original version of the song was released without a video. So, the video and remix version were meant to give the song a new twist to push it an extra step higher.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The video of the song shows exactly what the “Summa Dis Summa Dat” dance looks like and also shows different types of dance moves. It’s a fun dance song and this video emanates the energy from the song when you watch it. You just have to dance!

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) I always work with professional writers on creating my songs. Like I said, my music is a feeling. It’s a vibe from the heart, so the lyrics and emotion you finally hear on your speaker comes out of that vibe that the writer and/or I had at the time.

Q)How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) My record label, Lynx Entertainment, has a team of producers I work with, so we bounce ideas off each other and come up with new music ideas together. But the production is done by the team, which is led by award-winning producer Richie Mensah.

Q) What can fans expect from a live MzVee performance?

A) My performances are high energy and I love to interact with or involve my fans in my performances.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) Yes! I am I’m so excited about my fourth album, which I’m currently working on. It should be out in a few months. I can’t wait for my fans to hear this album.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) When I get the people dancing and singing with smiles on their faces, it really doesn’t matter where I’m performing. I do this because I love it and because it always brings some type of positive energy to the people around me.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Out of the three people who inspire me musically, I have had the honor of working with one (EFYA) and would love to work with Beyoncé in the future.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I am currently listening to Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s album Everything is Love.  I’m loving the album because it tells their story in a very creative way and it has a lot of versatility as well.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) We are in an era where everything and everyone is connected to the internet. It’s made it very easy for me to connect with fans from different countries all over the world. It allows my music travel far and wide.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I always preach about loving you for you (being natural) and I love seeing my fans doing exactly that! I love them so much and they should watch out for more from me!!
