Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

Andrew: Dan and Shay, One Direction and Thomas Rhett

Q) What do you think it is about your song “Why Me” that listeners connect to?

Devin: The feeling of being blessed and grateful for something you have or the people in your life.

Q) In your single “Why Me,” your vocals are being blended, to get your authentic On the Outside sound. How do you all manage to get that optimum and beautiful blend that you have when you record?

Jon: It took a lot of long days of rehearsals and hard work to find our own unique blend, and we work together with our producers to make sure that our sound translates well onto the record.

Q) When you all recorded this song “Why Me,” what emotions or feelings did you have going through you? What were you thinking while recording this?

Sam: While recording “Why Me” we all felt blessed and grateful to have each other and to be a part of this band.

Q) How do you go from getting these amazing lyrics in “Why Me” to creating a unique beat to match the emotion and mood you want to portray?

Jon: We have our amazing producers to thank for that! We are lucky to work with two of the industry’s most talented and respected producers – Mike Shimshack and Kyle Kelso.

Q) What is the biggest challenge you faced in the making of the song and how did you overcome it?

Dawson: Our biggest challenge is that we have five guys with very different voices and sometimes finding the right lines for each guy to sing is challenging.

Q) Talk about working with Kyle Kelso on the production on the song.

Andrew: Working with Kyle Kelso is amazing! He makes us feel so comfortable and really brings out the best vocal takes from us. He and Mike are an incredible team.

Q) What do you think it is about “Why Me” that sets it apart from other songs you have performed?

Devin: It’s really cool to look back on our history of recording as a band and to see the insane progression from all of us. This is the best we have sounded on any record we have put out, not to mention possibly our best song yet!

Q) You are a part of social media. What kind of fan feedback have you received to the song?

Dawson: We have the best fans! We’ve had nothing but amazing feedback and support in regards to the song, which is now a fan favorite. We love our Outsiders!

Q) What is the biggest takeaway that you hope listeners get from “Why Me?”

Sam: We hope our listeners are reminded to be grateful for the people in their lives.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

Sam: YES. SOOOOOOONNNNNN. We are finished recording our album and are just strategizing the release.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of you and your music?

Andrew: We would like to say that we greatly appreciate our Outsiders family and we feel truly blessed and we have them to thank for it! Oh, and also, there’s much, much more to come!
