Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) All over the place but all awesome.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Madonna, Prince, Talking Heads, Tears For Fears, Foreigner, Stevie Wonder, Steve Lukather, Santana, Juvenile, The Hives… and the list goes on…

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Barbarella.”

A) It’s mostly a happy accident because it was just an idea I had when I wanted to try using my newly purchased vintage Tascam 4 track recorder. Jory heard it and encouraged us to chase it down and make it a real song. Thank god for Jory Lee Cordy!

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) People laugh at the lyrics about Jesus in a pillow fight but the song has this emotional tug. Strange juxtaposition but I like it because of that.

Q) Your song was recently featured on the show “Good Trouble.” How did that opportunity come about and what did it mean to you?

A) We work with a great company called All Media Music Group and they help us get our songs into TV shows, ads, etc. It means we can pay for the vinyl copies of the record that we printed up.

Q) What songs off your upcoming album Ultra Deluxe can you tease have videos on the way?

A) We have videos out for “Bitch Baby,” “Barbarella” and “Afterglow.” One is coming out for “Problemz” soon.

Q) What are some topics will be explored on this album?

A) Love and relationships, bad habits, sex, etc.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) We change it often, but it’s always a collaboration. Sometimes we all get together and pull it out of thin air. Other times someone has an idea and we work it out till it’s right.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) All the hands…ten total with the band and our ghost member Justin Tocket who handles the recording and mixing, as well as helps with the writing and arranging.

Q) What can fans expect from a live Pet Fangs performance?

A) It’s us four up there playing our stuff, but just more like a rock show. Sometimes we’ll throw in a crazy cover like “Maneater” by Nelly Furtado.

Q) What songs off your Ultra Deluxe are you looking forward to performing live?

A) I love playing “She’s Alright,” “Bitch Baby” and “Barbarella.” I’m excited to work out “Problemz” and “Didn’t I Babe” for the upcoming shows.

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from listening to your album as a whole?

A) I hope it’s a good journey and they like the arc of the record but people will have their favorite songs and I dig that. I think there’s a lot people can relate too lyrically and we’re really proud of how it sounds. Hopefully, some folks agree!

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) St Vincent, Josh Homme or Sexy Sax Man

Q) What album/band/artist are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) Los Tigres Del Norte! Perfect for drinking cervezas and lowering the blood pressure.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) We post stuff about our work to let our fans know what’s going on and also just use it to goof off. Obviously, it’s a great way to interact with people all over the world and a lot of people have discovered us that way.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you. We love you and appreciate you.
