Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) It blends elements of electronica, pop, and dark trailer music. The goal was to take influences from the music you hear in cinema and create a full story.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) My biggest influences are artists that are always pushing boundaries such as Billie Eilish, Imogen Heap, CHVRCHES, and Banks. I grew up on artists such as Crystal Castles and Nine Inch Nails. Then, I attended my first dance music festival and that changed my entire perspective on music. It made me fall in love with production and the fact you could create a whole vision on your own which inspired me to step into the electronic music realm.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Back For More.”

A) I have been writing music for TV/Film the last few years and fell in love with the dark cinematic sound. I had been doing pop-dance for a long time and decided it was time for a change. I wanted to not only bring in cinematic elements but also tie in electronic elements which was a challenge trying to decide what structure and direction to go. I had done many revisions on the song over the past year and a half before releasing it. The song is about knowing that a situation isn’t good for you, but you keep going back to the same place rather than making a change that needs to be made.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think we all get ourselves into toxic situations that we know aren’t good for us, whether it’s a relationship or the people we surround ourselves with. It’s very difficult to pull yourself out of a negative situation with people you care deeply about without questioning yourself everyday whether it’s the right decision.

Q) What made Hinky the perfect place to release the track?

A) Hinky really loved the new direction I was doing and was so supportive. They are also a very hardworking label that truly cares about their artists visions which can be very difficult to find as an artist.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) Lately, I have been doing the music first and then writing the melody/lyrics as the production is a very important aspect in my music. But I will also come up with chords and write to those and then build a track around it, which I love doing as well because I find when you hear a song over and over again it can take away your inspiration to write.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I usually co-produce my music because I love collaborating with other great producers and writers.

Q) What can fans expect from a live Sciarra performance?

A) My goal is to have amazing light shows and an orchestra to play all of my songs.

Q) Will there be a full EP or album coming in the near future?

A) There will be an EP in the future. I want to release a few more singles this year to get some of the music out that I have been working on over the past year.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I love performing at venues such as Avalon that tend to focus more on electronic music and have a high energy crowd.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I’d love to collaborate ZHU or Nero. They both have amazing production and visions.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I have been really into Billie Eilish’s new songs, especially her new one “Bury a Friend.” She is really pushing boundaries with the music she is putting out. I love how relatable it is and the stories she puts into her music videos.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) I find social media the easiest way to engage with my fans consistently. I am able to message with them anytime anywhere.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I would like to say thank you to anyone who has supported my music. It means so much to me to have people that are listening to the songs I put out. I put my heart and soul into every song I do and to have people out there supporting me and my vision is absolutely amazing and unreal. I am extremely lucky to do this every day.
