Speechless – C-E– CELEBRITY S-U– SUITE

Dylan (Kyla Kenedy) announces that Maya (Minnie Driver) is talking to the turkey. The DiMeo family is excited that their favorite Thanksgiving tradition is about to begin–Maya trying to get out of doing anything. She suggests alternatives for the day, but JJ (Micah Fowler) guilts her into doing something traditional by reminding her he’s going off to college soon.

Ray (Mason Cook) announces that he found a chest hair. Thus, he finally thinks he’s mature enough to get back together with Taylor (Sedona James). Jimmy’s brother Billy (Rob Corddry) shows up and announces he’s now vegan because of his new, much younger girlfriend.

Kenneth (Cedric Yarbrough) accidentally gives JJ one of Billy’s heart pills, and they rush him to the hospital. They’re going to have to keep him overnight for observation, which bums JJ out, but Maya is determined to make this the best Thanksgiving ever.

Maya and Ray dig through medical supplies in order to find things that look like decorations. However, when they see a nurse rolling a real cornucopia down the hallway, they stop and interrogate him. They learn it’s headed to the celebrity suite, and Maya is determined to get it.

Unfortunately, Melanie (Sarah Chalke) and Logan (Cole Massie) are also there and want the same thing. The two of them find out a big hypochondriac donor is currently in the room, and they decide to team up to kick him out and then flip a coin for the space. They participate in an elaborate scheme and eventually succeed in getting the man to flee.

JJ gets some good news when he learns that Logan is suffering from complications from a tonsillectomy and can’t tell dumb zingers all day. Eventually, he feels bad for Logan and lets him use his old board, but he immediately regrets doing so when Logan starts insulting him with it.

Melanie and Maya are about to flip for the celebrity suite with a badge they stole, but Melanie suggests that they put aside their differences and share the room just for the day. Maya wants to take her up on it, but JJ warns Maya not to trust the family. Dylan and JJ are suspicious they have claimed the room for themselves while Maya talks to them, and Maya decided to go take the room for herself before Melanie has a chance to.

Jimmy is overwhelmingly annoyed at Billy and forces Kenneth to keep him occupied. Though Kenneth is also irritated by him at first, they eventually bond after taking novocaine. Jimmy sees them having a good time and gets jealous of their bond and the fact Kenneth gets fun Billy when he never does.

Kenneth tells Jimmy he should try and connect with Bily on a deeper level since they’re adults now. Kenneth tries to get them to talk about their feelings, but they find it cheesy. The only thing that makes them feel better is when they begin to make fun of Kenneth.

Ray is disappointed when he learns that Taylor is on a ski trip with her boyfriend. He sits next to a woman in labor (Azura Skye) and complains about his problems. She asks Ray to continue telling his story about Taylor, as it’s so boring it’s calming her down. When the doctor comes into the waiting room to get her, she insists she needs Ray to come into the delivery room with him. He finishes his story just as the child is being born and emotionally tells the infant he gave him hope and the strength to love again.

Ray gets attached to the baby, going back into the mom’s room and giving the baby skin-to-skin contact. The woman is eventually weirded out and makes Ray leave. Ray tells Jimmy about his predicament, and Jimmy promises him that the hurt will eventually fade. He tells him never to lose his gigantic heart.

Melanie bangs on the door, telling Maya that, although she wasn’t going to screw her over, she is now out of revenge. She contacts the AC and alarm guys to make the room freezing cold and have the obnoxious alarms blare. Melanie finally admits she was going to take the room, but Maya invites her and her family in anyway to make it stop. After all, people all over the country put aside their differences for a day. Why can’t they get along for a few hours? The two families enjoy a nice meal together in the celebrity suite.
