Lena (Katie McGrath) and James (Mehcad Brooks) are discussing about how she should get her own place when Reign (Odette Annable) breaks the window wanting Ruby (Emma Tremblay) and knocks James to the side. Lena grabs a canister of Kryptonite and tells Reign she will never find Ruby. J’onn (David Harewood) and M’yrnn (Carl Lumbly) talk about what they should do when M’yrnn gets upset and tells J’onn he doesn’t feel like doing memory restoration and asks J’onn to put on a vinyl disc to which J’onn does. On the Legion ship we see Kara (Melissa Benoist), Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Winn (Jeremy Jordan) listening as Imra (Amy Jackson), Mon-El (Chris Wood) and Brainy (Jesse Rath) discuss how they kept others in pods until they found a cure. Brainy tells the group that it’s best if Imra gets back to the future soon. Brainy thanks Winn for all his help by giving him Earth dirt from the 31st Century and Winn teaches him how to bro hug. Imra, Kara and Alex are speaking when Mon-El and Winn come in pulling Alex away to look at the dirt he got. Kara and Mon-El have a heart to heart as she tells him that she’s glad she got to see the man he became when Alex comes over mentioning an attack at Lena’s penthouse. The Super friends arrive at the penthouse and Alex says that Reign is after Ruby. Alex pleads with Lena to tell her where Ruby is so that she can just know she’s okay. Lena tells them Ruby is in a place no one can find he because only she and Lex know about it as it was his mansion.

Supergirl and J’onn arrive at Patricia’s (Betty Buckley) house who thinks it’s someone else who is in her home. When she comes around the corner she is surprised to see Supergirl and J’onn. She tells them of when Sam was a little girl how she drew pictures that would get her in trouble. She informs Supergirl that when you bury things they come back to you. Patricia is firm when she notes that if Reign is coming for her she’s going to be there for her unlike she was when Sam was growing up. Meanwhile, Alex meets with Mrs. Queller (Cynthia Stevenson) who is the caretaker of the mansion. Mrs. Queller leads Alex to the kitchen where Ruby is watching something with her headphones on and when her attention is brought to the two women she jumps up running to her “Aunt Alex.” Ruby starts questioning Alex with questions about her mom and pleading to tell her something since she hasn’t heard from her mother in days and Lena won’t say anything. Supergirl and J’onn put Patricia in a safe room and they discuss his father who has become depressed since everything that happened at the DEO. As they talk J’onn notices the flowers behind Kara are dying and they know Reign will be arriving sooner than they expected. Reign finds someone in the closet. Thinking it’s Ruby, she opens the door asking if her daughter has missed her only to find Supergirl waiting and blasting her out the window. Patricia comes out the door as Supergirl is weakened by the siren call. Patricia pleads with Sam to rise up not for her but for Ruby and as she does Reign stabs Patricia in the stomach.

On the Legion ship Mon-El and Brainy talk when he suddenly notes the chances of Supergirl and the DEO defeating Reign. Brainy thinks it’s less because Reign has all three powers in one. Supergirl and Patricia talk and in a heartbreaking moment the dying woman asks Supergirl to pass on her goodbyes and love to Sam and Ruby before taking her final breath. James arrives at L-Corp and is the one to inform Lena that Patricia Ares is dead and Reign is the one who did it. He also informs her that Reign has the power of the other two World Killers and tells Lena she’s going to have to tell Supergirl as she knows how to make Kryptonite. Lena refuses as she and James go back and forth on why she should tell Supergirl. James tells her that the reason our heroine sees it the way she does is because of Lex using it to kill Superman, but also appeals to the fact that Reign has the same weakness as Supergirl and that if Lena comes forward Supergirl will be grateful.

Alex gets the phone call about Patricia when Ruby comes in so she hangs up the phone and tries to distract Ruby who only asks more questions. Alex leaves to get things going for their movie when Ruby looks at her phone debating something. At the DEO, J’onn and Kara talk about how she’s supposed to get through to Sam when Reign is showing no signs of humanity left. J’onn tells Kara that one Martian got through to the White Martians who spared his life. J’onn and Kara go and speak with M’yrnn who seems to be reliving the past until J’onn explains who they are to him. M’yrnn refuses to help J’onn and Kara because he doesn’t want fail. Kara decides to speak to M’yrnn himself. J’onn shifts into a White Martian, which helps to get M’yrnn to open up and provide the answers J’onn and Kara need. The Legion ship is reaching the spot to go back to the 31st Century when Imra comes to Mon-El and tells him he needs to go back and fight with Kara to stop Reign. Mon-El refuses at first, stating that he belongs with Imra. She reveals that she wants him to go and discover what his heart truly wants and if he comes back she will know it’s her.

Lena arrives at the DEO with a few DEO Agents and a brief case. Supergirl notices her and calls out to her. Lena tells her to not be worried because it’s in a lead lined case, which causes Kara to know immediately what Lena is holding. Lena reveals that it’s to help her fight Reign, which starts their argument all over again only this time Lena reveals that she made it herself angering Supergirl. Lena reveals that James thought she would be grateful, but this angers Supergirl more. Lena and Supergirl have their argument reach the point where Lena points out Supergirl’s God complex. This leads to Supergirl telling Lena that if they were on the same side and if she did trust her that she can’t risk coming in contact with the Kryptonite by mistake. Lena informs Supergirl that trust isn’t easy for her either but since they need to work together they need to figure it out.

Ruby sneaks outside to call Sam from Alex’s phone and ends up leaving a voicemail  where she is pleading with Sam to call her or come and pick her up. Reign, who is hovering over the city, catches onto Ruby’s voice and what she’s saying. She then takes off to find Ruby. Alex comes back into the room right as Ruby is putting down the phone and feeling like something is up. That is when the alarms go off, which broadcasts a signal to the DEO. Kara tells J’onn that he can’t go because he’s still weak so he lets her know he’s the only one who can handle the Kryptonite. That is until Mon-El shows back up telling them that he can do it and that he’s there to help them fight Reign. Alex and Ruby are running to the bunker when Reign drills herself down right as they make it into the room. Alex makes sure Ruby is hidden from Reign as she prepares to go one on one with her. Reign, who is passing through each defense, breaks down the door and uses her siren call to destroy the gun and weaken Alex as she approaches Ruby. Supergirl and Mon-El arrive in time to get her away from Ruby as they hold her still for Alex to fire a shot which she only shakes off. Supergirl hits Reign into the glass which knocks off Reign’s mask. Ruby comes out and grabs the gun only to see Reign’s face for the first time. Alex grabs Ruby and hides her behind her. Supergirl steps in front of them appealing to Reign’s code while Mon-El breaks down the Kryptonite and fires it at Reign. Kara covers Alex and Ruby.

At the L-Corp labs they get Reign strapped in and Supergirl apologizes to Lena for how she reacted to bringing in the Kryptonite. She tells Lena that she trusts her. Lena excuses herself telling Supergirl and Mon-El that she’s going to work on a cure. Kara and Mon-El talk about why he came back when he reveals that Brainy nanny bugged Winn’s dirt and about the conversation he and Brainy had. Mon-El tells Kara that he’s not leaving until they defeat Reign and help Sam. He says in the meantime they should train, which she agrees to but leaves telling him she’s going to see Ruby.

J’onn comes home to M’yrnn telling him he discovered something new about coffee and mocha. J’onn thanks him for his help with Reign to which M’yrnn has no memory of and then informs him again of the mocha and coffee. Alex and Ruby talk about how Reign looks exactly like her mom and Alex promises that she will keep her safe and to be honest with her. Kara gets into the elevator as Lena comes rushing around the corner surprised to see her. They hug and Lena tells Kara she’s a sight for sore eyes. Kara and Lena talk about Supergirl and how she’s working with her because she has to as secrets are revealed about using James and how Supergirl crossed a line and that she can’t trust her. Kara is hit with the fact that she’s gone a little too far and that it is now going to affect her friendship with Lena who still has no idea she’s Supergirl.
