Sam (Jared Padalecki) gives the people of the Apocalypse Earth a quick recap on what’s been happening on Sam’s world. “Let me get this right the ice caps are melting, a movie where a girl goes all the way with a fish wins Best Picture and that damn fool from The Apprentice is President?” And you call where we come from Apocalypse World?” Bobby (Jim Beaver) asks.

Then Sam, Dean (Jensen Ackles), Jack (Alexander Calvert) and Castiel (Misha Collins) go on a werewolf hunt.

Mary (Samantha Smith) and Bobby take a walk in the rain. She asks what he’s going to do now. Bobby tells Mary that Ketch is off doing Ketch things while Charlie and Rowena are taking a road trip of the southwest, which means ginger trouble with a capital ‘G.’ He admits that he’s not sure he wants to go back because he likes it there. They stumble upon blood and find Maggie’s (Katherine Evans) body.

At the Men of Letters bunker, Dean comments how great Jack did on the hunt. Dean says that maybe with Jack’s help they could stop all the evil in the world and have more time to drink beer. “But on a beach somewhere. Can you imagine? You, me and Cas, toes in the sand with one of those drinks with a little umbrella and matching Hawaiian shirts.” “You talking about retiring?” Sam asks his brother. Dean admits that if he knew the world was safe, he’d absolutely retire. “I’ll drink to that,” Sam says.

Dean comes past Jack’s room and finds Jack having a big dream. “Sorry,” Jack says. “You don’t have to apologize, I have them too all the time,” Dean tells Jack. “What do you see?” Jack asks. “Mostly people I couldn’t save,” Dean answers. “I tried to save them all, I just wasn’t strong,” Jack says sadly. Dean tells Jack that although he doesn’t know what he saw over there, he knows Jack is strong.  But it’s not just about being strong, because even the strongest person makes mistakes and bad things happen.  Dean assures Jack that he’ll get through whatever bad comes his way they’ll find a way to deal with it together.  “You’re family kid and we take care of our own,” Dean promises Jack. Suddenly, Sam bursts in.

“I said I’d protect her,” Jack laments as he looks at Maggie’s dead body.  Sam assures that it isn’t Jack’s fault while Mary realizes that whatever killed Maggie doesn’t look supernatural.

Sam questions a friend of Maggie’s and tells girl that Maggie is dead. “We were supposed to be safe here,” she says. The girl tells Sam and Dean that Maggie snuck out to meet a boy she had a crush on named Nate (Agape Mngomezulu) at the store where he works. Jack seethes as he listens to the girl then goes to the convenience store to confront Nate.  Sam, Dean and Castiel take off for the store as well when they find Jack gone. Meanwhile, Jack has Nate pinned to the wall and demands to know why he killed Maggie. Nate can’t believe that Maggie is dead. Sam, Dean and Castiel arrive at the convenience store and Dean shoots Jack in the back to get the Nephilim’s attention.  “You shot me,” Jack says shocked. “Because you were acting like a crazy person,” is Dean’s responses. They assure that Nate is innocent. Jack rushes out of the store.

“Why do you keep hurting everyone?!” Jack angrily asks himself when he is alone outside as he replays all the times in his mind when he used his powers and ended up hurting people.  We get clips from various scenes in the season. Meanwhile, Dean assures Nate that he shot Jack with rubber bullets as a training exercise. Castiel adds that they are FBI Agents.  Meanwhile, glass suddenly starts flying in the store and they tell Nate he has to leave.

“Hi son,” Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) says appearing out of nowhere and greeting Jack.

Back in the convenience store, Sam, Dean and Castiel run when Michael (Christian Keyes) appears. “It’s not possible,” Castiel says. “Tell him that,” adds Sam. “Hey fellas, miss me?” Michael asks. Castiel wants to use an angel blade on Michael, but Sam knows it is a losing battle and the trio run.

“Is this real?” Jack asks his father surprised that Lucifer is alive. Jack tells Lucifer that Sam said that Lucifer was dead that Michael had killed him. Lucifer tells Jack that Sam is a liar and was the one who left him for dead.  But Lucifer says that he doesn’t blame Sam after all he (Lucifer) has done to him. Lucifer wants to travel the universe with his son. “Like Star Wars?” Jack asks. “Exactly like Star Wars. You want a light saber, I can make you a light saber. I can make you a Wookie,” Lucifer promises his son. He tells Jack that even though Sam, Dean and Castiel will miss him (Jack), he has to live his own life; this is their second chance. Jack happily agrees to go with his father, but first there’s something they have to do. Jack and Lucifer return to the Men of Letters bunker.  Mary is shocked to see him and tells Bobby to call Sam.  Maggie’s dead body is stretch out on a table in the library. Mary tells Lucifer that they were planning to give Maggie a hunter’s funeral. Jack says now they won’t have to. “My father is going to bring Maggie back to life.” Lucifer reminds Jack that bringing people back to life isn’t always the best idea because people come back different. Jack says that Sam didn’t. “Sam was always a little different,” Lucifer says sarcastically.  But as he promised his son that he would do anything, Lucifer uses his power to bring Maggie back to life.  Then, Jack and Lucifer disappear.

Sam, Dean and Castiel return to the Men of Letters bunker. Mary gets them up to speed about the Jack and Lucifer situation. Maggie tells Sam and Dean that she saw the eyes of the person who killed her. Sam and Dean contact Jody to ask her to put an APB out on Lucifer. Suddenly, there is a disturbance at the Men of Letters bunker. Sam and Dean urge Bobby to take Mary and Maggie to the garage to hide. Then, Michael appears. “You really thought you could run from me?” Michael asks. Sam, Dean and Castiel try to fight Michael off but it is useless. Michael reveals that he made a deal with Lucifer and a spell brought him there. Michael has Dean by the throat and is about to choke the life out of him. Sam prays to Jack. “We need your help.”

Jack and Lucifer are out looking at the stars. Lucifer tells his son that they’ll make some improvements on the world. Jack hears Sam’s prayer and rushes back to the bunker. He uses his powers on Michael for trying to hurt his family. “Lucifer we had a deal!” Michael shouts completely at Jack’s mercy. Lucifer tries to cover but Dean tells Jack about how Lucifer made a deal with Michael. “He gets you and Michael gets everything else.”  Jack also learns that Lucifer killed Maggie.  Everything his father has told him his been a lie! “I tried with you,” Lucifer says annoyed. What does it matter that he killed Maggie, she was a human. “So am I,” Jack reminds. Lucifer tells Jack they could have had everything. But since they can’t have it together, he doesn’t need Jack. “I just needs your power,” Lucifer says as he slits Jack’s throat and takes his son’s grace. Sam grabs hold of Lucifer and he, Jack and the Devil disappears.

Back at the Men of Letters bunker, Michael tells Dean and Castiel that the Devil won. There’s no way he can beat his brother with this banged up meat suit. “What if you had your sword?” Dean asks Michael.

Meanwhile, Lucifer is beating Sam to a pulp and then turns on his son.  He tells Jack he doesn’t need him; he can make more kids. To show Sam that family blows, Lucifer gives a blade to Jack and tells him to kill Sam.

As we gets scenes from Season 5 where Dean learned that he was the Michael Sword, Dean reminds Michael that he is the perfect vessel. But if he does this, Dean makes Michael promise that he is the one in charge and Michael rides shot gun. Castiel urges Dean not to do this, but Dean says he doesn’t have a choice because Lucifer has Jack and Sam.

Sam picks up the blade and tells Jack to kill him. Jack can’t do it and decides to kill himself. Suddenly, Dean appears.  Or should I say, the Archangel Michael. “You let me brother in,” Lucifer realizes. “It seems we have something in common, we both want to gut your ass.” Dean as Michael and Lucifer have an angel battle on the ceiling.  It looks like Lucifer will defeat his brother as he prepares to smite Dean.  But Sam throws the Archangel killing blade to Dean, who stabs Lucifer finally killing the Devil!

But before Sam, Dean and Jack can bask in their victory, Michael makes his presence known. “No, we had a deal!” Dean shouts. “Thanks for the suit,” Michael says then vanishes.

The episode ends with Michael walking down the street, his plan to take over the world closer to becoming a reality.
