Jane Sloan (Katie Stevens) forces Sutton Brady (Meghann Fahy) to get out of bed while Kat Edison (Aisha Dee) makes her breakfast to help with her hangover. Kat admits that she stayed up all night, and Jane and Sutton insinuate that she did to avoid having another sex dream. However, Kat insists it was one dream and the dream will stop when Adena El Amin (Nikohl Boosheri) returns.

Jane and Kat comment that Sutton has been partying with Brooke Langley (Alexandra Turshen) a lot and questions if it’s due to her heartbreak over Richard Hunter (Sam Page). Sutton denies it, insisting that she’s networking. Jane gets a notification that her article about Jacqueline Carlyle (Melora Hardin) and her sexual assault has been nominated for an award. Sutton and Kat congratulate her, and Kat pours them champagne. However, Sutton gets sick at the sight of the alcohol and runs into the bathroom to throw up.

Ben Chau (Luca James Lee) brings Jane flowers to congratulate her but can tell that Jane isn’t fully thrilled by the nomination. Jane admits that she wrote the article while at Scarlet, and that the nomination pulls her back in when she was trying to move on. Ben suggests that she should capitalize on the nomination buzz to find new opportunities. Jacqueline compliments Kat on her social media work, and Kat congratulates her on the nomination. Jacqueline insists that Jane deserves all of the credit and asks how she is. Kat tells her Jane’s doing good and gets a text from Leila (Katerina Tannenbaum) inviting her out.

Oliver Grayson (Stephen Conrad Moore) comments on Sutton’s lateness, and Sutton brings a gift for him. He asks how he got it, and Sutton comments on Brooke’s connections. Oliver asks Sutton if she’s taking care of herself, and Sutton insists she’s fine. Jane makes several calls to different magazines and gets a meeting. Oliver asks Sutton to help style Richard’s date for the awards ceremony.

Jeff Seltzer (Howard Rosenstein) sits down with Jane, and Jane tells him that it would be an honor to write for his magazine. He suggests that she write a follow-up to her nominated article, but Jane tells him she wants to write something new. Jeff tells her that he wants her to explore the domino effect of women coming forward inspiring other women to come forward and Jane reluctantly agrees to write it. Kat suggests that Sutton dress up Richard’s date in ugly clothes, but Sutton refuses to. Kat picks an outfit from the rack for herself and tells Sutton about Leila’s invitation. Sutton is surprised that she’s going, but Kat tells her that she’s curious about the lesbian scene.

Jane approaches Jacqueline at their photoshoot, and they congratulate each other on the nomination. As they pose for pictures together, Jane tells Jacqueline about the follow-up article. Jacqueline admits that coming forward was healing for her and she was glad that it had positive impact. The photoshoot ends, and Jacqueline tells Jane that she’s happy that she’s doing well. Kat arrives at the lesbian bar and Leila greets her before introducing Kat as Adena’s girlfriend to her friends. Leila gives her a shot and tells her they need to catch up.

Jane tells Ben that many women are interested in being interviewed for the article and believes that it’s going to be a positive piece. Ben asks how the photoshoot went, and Jane admits that it went well once she remembered how much she liked Jacqueline. She admits that Jacqueline was right in rejecting her, as the time since has been good for her. Ben tells her that she’s glad she’s feeling better, and Jane invites him as her date. He tells her he would be honored but confirms that Kat and Sutton would be attending with them. Jane gets a twitter message about her article, requesting to meet in person. Despite being confused, Jane agrees to set up a meeting before kissing Ben.

Kat receives drinks from women all over the bar, and Leila explains that she’s a big deal. Leila elaborates that the lesbian scene is small, so a new person is exciting. Brooke invites Sutton to a party, but Sutton tells Brooke about her awful day. Brooke pours them drinks, toasting to a sexy, single Sutton and a night of debauchery. Kat dances on the dance floor and gravitates towards Daniella (Gabrielle Graham), eventually kissing her.

Sutton answers the door and Kat bursts in upset. She tells them that she kissed another girl, and Ben comments before Jane stops him. He realizes that his input isn’t wanted and goes back to the bedroom. Jane asks Kat what she’s going to do, and Kat admits that she’s going to have to tell Adena. Jane asks her if she liked the kiss, and Kat launches into a description that causes Sutton to suggest that she didn’t dislike it. Sutton asks if she touched her boobs, and then admits that she’s drunk. Jane suggests that Sutton is drunk because of Richard, but Sutton replies that she’s drunk because she had drinks.

Sutton shows Oliver the options she’s picked out for Richard’s date, and he tells her that she can help style her. Oliver introduces Jessica (Tattiawna Jones) to Sutton and Sutton helps her pick an outfit. She asks Jessica how long she’s been dating Richard, and she tells her that she and Richard used to date in law school and reconnected recently. Jessica comments that it’s like no time has passed and believes that Richard will finally settle down with her. Sutton tells Kat in the fashion closet about what Jessica said and Kat gets a text that Adena is coming home that night.

Jane thanks Elena (Victoria Sanchez) for meeting with her and begins the interview. She asks if anyone inspired her to come forward, and Elena mentions how great it was for Jacqueline to come forward. However, she tells Jane that she worked at the same place as Jacqueline and was assaulted by the same man Jacqueline was. Jane expresses sympathy but asks how she knows it was the same man since Jacqueline never named him. Elena tells her the description was enough and admits that dealing with it has been difficult. She admits that coming forward is hard, but questions if her own assault could have been prevented if Jacqueline had come forward earlier.

Kat finds Adena waiting for her, and they embrace. Adena tells her about her trip, but soon senses that there’s a problem. Kat tells her about her kiss, the dream, and the curiosities she’s been having for other women. She admits that she’s confused, but Adena leaves the apartment. As Jane gets ready for the awards ceremony, she assures Kat that it was good that she was honest with Adena. Sutton asks Jane if she plans to include Elena’s story in the article, but Jane is worried about the impact it will have on Jacqueline. However, she admits that Elena’s story is part of Jacqueline’s story now.

Sutton declares that she’ll need more wine to prepare herself for the evening, and Kat checks her phone for a text from Adena. Jane tells both of them not to come, telling them that it’s okay not to be okay and doesn’t want them to be miserable at the ceremony. Sutton and Kat are hesitant about skipping Jane’s big night, but Jane insists that she’ll tell them everything afterward. Jane enters the ceremony with Ben but admits that she’s still struggling with her article. Ben encourages her to enjoy the moment, but Jane tells him it’s due tomorrow.

Sutton gets a text from Brooke asking her to party with her and replies. Brooke comes over with alcohol, and Sutton rants that Jessica is perfect. Brooke stops her and tells her to stop moping and get over Richard. Sutton replies that she already tried that but is offended when Brooke calls her “Slutton.” As Brooke tells her to get ready, Sutton looks over at a board celebrating Jane, Kat, and Sutton’s friendship. Sutton visits Kat and tells her that they need to put their issues aside and be there for Jane. Kat agrees, and they get ready for the ceremony.

Jacqueline approaches Jane and Ben, and compliments Jane’s look. She recognizes Ben, commenting that she never forgets a photoshoot. Ben goes to get them drinks, and Jacqueline asks how the article is coming. Jane insists everything is great, but Jacqueline can tell Jane is hiding something. Jane asks to speak privately and tells Jacqueline about Elena’s story. She admits that she doesn’t know what to do about that story but wanted to tell Jacqueline about it before it’s published. The Emcee tells everyone to take their seats and Jacqueline leaves without a word.

As Kat and Sutton rush to the ceremony, the Emcee reads the nominees for the award. They arrive in time, and Jane is thrilled to see them. Sutton and Richard share a look, and the Emcee announces Jane as the winner. Jane is in shock, and Ben tells her it’s time to make a speech. She goes up to the podium and the Emcee congratulates her and hands her a trophy. Jane thanks the survivors of sexual assault, declaring that one voice can make an impact. She tells the room that Jacqueline is that voice and that Jacqueline pushed her to dig deeper, teaching her that the story and the truth matters most.

Kat, Jane, and Sutton crawl into bed together after the ceremony and share celebratory ice cream. Sutton apologizes for the way she’s been acting, admitting that her heartbreak caused her to make bad decisions. Jane is glad to have her friend back, and Kat tells Jane that she’s proud of her. Kat gets a text from Adena telling her that she’s home and wants to talk. Jane and Sutton wish her luck, and Jane finishes writing her article. After sending it to Jeff, she sends the article to Jacqueline, telling her that it’s her story too.

Kat finds Adena waiting for her, and Adena tells her she’s ready to talk. Adena tells her she appreciates her honesty, and that she knows that she is the only woman that Kat has kissed. Kat asks if she’s breaking up with her, telling her that she doesn’t want to lose her. Adena tells her she doesn’t want to lose her either, but that the curiosity won’t go away. Kat asks what they’ll do, and Adena admits she doesn’t know as she takes Kat’s hand.

The next morning, Jane gets a call from Andrew (Adam Capriolo) telling her that Jacqueline wants to meet with her. Oliver is surprised to see that Sutton is early, and Sutton tells him to get used to it. Jane arrives for her meeting and Jacqueline tells her to sit down. Jacqueline comments on her article and admits that she never thought about other people being affected by her attacker after her. She admits that the article pushed her to realize that and that she’s reached out to Elena to team up on a new initiative for safe spaces for women.

Jacqueline tells Jane that when she rejected her initially, it was because she knew that she was scared and wasn’t ready to return to Scarlet. However, Jacqueline tells her that Jane has shown growth over the past few days and tells her to come back to Scarlet. Kat admits to Sutton in the fashion closet that she and Adena are in uncharted territory, and Sutton assures her she’s going to be okay. Jane enters the closet, and they ask what she’s doing there. Jane announces that she works at Scarlet again, and Kat and Sutton are thrilled.
