Q) In your new hit single “Strange Days” you all really capture the times we are living in. What do you think it is about now that makes it truly such strange days?

A) I think what makes this so strange Is not being able to interact with others the way we did prior to this. Everything has been virtual and real human interactions are so important. It will be interesting to see how we act once we are able to return to a more “normal” style of living.

Q) What in particular inspired this song?

A) This song was inspired by living in Southern California during summer with all of the COVID lockdowns. I found myself listening to a lot of surf rock (Beach Boys, Santo and Johnny, etc.) and just being inspired by that tone.

Q) What kind of fan feedback have you been receiving to “Strange Days?”

A) We love hearing that our fans have been enjoying the song. I think each fan can connect to it in one way or another

Q) What’s been most rewarding about piecing this song together?

A) Being able to utilize the skills of John [Kinglsey] and David [Aguiar]. When I wrote this, I wanted to stretch The Brevet’s sound and get John on more steel guitar to really create that surf rock sound.

Q) How were you able to hone in, get everything together and film this music so fast with video off iPhones in about two and a half hours?

A) [laughs] We really just have a vision and all of us were able to stay focused and get it done. We are really happy with how the video came out.

Q) In the music video for this song you all are all around water at Corona Del Mar (Newport Beach, CA). How does the location relate to the message behind the song?

A) Going back to being in Orange County, CA during summer of COVID lockdowns definitely makes you long for some of the most beautiful beach spots in Orange County.

Q) What is your songwriting process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) I usually write the music first and let the lyrics amplify the mood of the song already create.

Q) You all have a good thing going here, from catchy melodies to cohesive concept. What do you hope sticks out most in this song?

A) Thank you! I just hope it expands our sound a bit more.

Q) Not that you’ve lived these “Strange Days,” what do you think will be next?

A) We are hoping live shows will come back soon.

Q) Who are some artists you are currently digging at the moment?

A) It’s all over the place … Bahamas, Beach Boys, Arctic Monkeys, Local Natives, Foals

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of you and your music?

A) We are an independent band and very much a DIY band…So, it really means the world to us to when people find our music and share it and are inspired by it!
