Callie (Maia Mitchell) heads to Jamie’s (Beau Mirchoff) room, asking if he’s still up to grab a drink, and finds Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) there. After some awkward sitting around, Callie and Mariana decide to head out. Mariana gets a text from Emma (Amanda Leighton) saying she’s in Turks, and Mariana goes to Jayden’s (Morgan Lindholm) room to find Jesus (Noah Centineo).

Emma knocks on Brandon’s door, asking about Jesus. Brandon (David Lambert) invites her in, and she rants about how lucky Brandon is he found the right person already. Mariana drags Jesus out of Jayden’s room, yelling at him for doing something he already regrets though she warned him not to. Mariana tells Jesus not to tell Emma about what he did. Emma apologizes to Jesus for making him feel like she wasn’t choosing him, telling him he’s her soulmate and she wants to be with him forever. Jesus tells Emma he loves her, too.

Mariana goes to bed, leaving Brandon and Callie alone in Brandon’s room. Brandon admits he hasn’t talked to Eliza (Abigail Cowen) yet and Callie encourages him to have a conversation with her. Brandon thanks her for the advice and they hug.

Callie crawls into bed with Mariana, asking her if she was planning on hooking up with Jamie. Mariana explains she had a moment with Mat (Jordan Rodrigues) and just visited Jamie to help stop her from doing something she would regret. Callie went to visit Jamie because she couldn’t sleep. Callie asks Mariana if she told Eliza about her and Brandon, and although she denies it, Callie doesn’t totally believe her, which irritates Mariana.

Eliza sees Brandon and Callie’s hug through the window. When she goes inside she confronts Brandon about not telling her about Callie, wondering if he’s having doubts because he still loves Callie. She asks if they’re still getting married, and Brandon doesn’t have an answer.

Jude (Hayden Byerly) texts someone from a dating app, and they decide to hook up. Jim (Robert Gant) sees Jude come out of Carter’s (Spencer List) room and gets suspicious. Later, Carter tells Jude about this, saying Jim was angry—he doesn’t have a family like Jude’s.

Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena (Sherri Saum) reminisce about how all their kids have grown up so fast. Stef is nervous they won’t come home if they sell the house, and Lena isn’t sure moving districts for a seat she might not even win is worth it.

They take off their robes and go skinny dipping in the ocean. While they’re in the water, a resort worker picks up their robes to clean, leaving them without clothes. They frantically wrap towels around themselves, and Stef calls the front desk, explaining the situation and begging to be let back in since they don’t have their keys or ID. They scurry to the front desk and run into Jim and Diane (Susan Walters) heading back from the gym.

Brandon talks to Mike (Danny Nucci) on the beach, telling him he’s freaking out about marrying Eliza. He’s scared he’s going to feel pressured by her and her parents to only take care of Eliza and not himself. Mike says if he’s not mature enough to stand up to Eliza and her family, maybe he’s not mature enough to get married. Mike tells him he has to grow up and choose himself in order to stay with Eliza.

Brandon and Eliza go talk to her parents. Brandon says he’ll sign the prenup but isn’t comfortable accepting a condo. He also wants them to know that, although he’ll work hard to succeed as a film composer, it might take some time. Eliza assures Brandon she wants him to do what he’s passionate about and tells her parents Stef and Lena are going to marry them, her bridesmaids are going to wear better dresses, and Brandon isn’t signing any prenup.

Stef and Lena make a beautiful speech while marrying Brandon and Eliza. Stef cracks jokes about not quite being ready to be a grandma and Lena reads a poem about the power of love and family. Throughout the ceremony, everyone remembers some of their favorite memories of the past few years together.

At the reception, Callie apologizes to Mariana for assuming she told Eliza about their relationship. Brandon told her Eliza overhead them talking. Mariana promises she’s grown up and considers going on tour with Mat instead of a European trip. Callie assures Mariana she can always get back together with Mat later if that’s still what she wants. Mariana decides to take the plunge and talk to Mat anyway, but she sees him kissing Ashley (LaToya Tonodeo).

Callie confronts Jude about Carter, and Jude says all he did was help him back to bed. Instead, Jude hooked up with a different guy he met on an app. Callie asks him what he’s compensating for before reminding him he has a family he can talk to.

Jayden yells at Jesus for not telling her that he had a girlfriend. Though he swears they were broken up at the time, Jayden is angry and tells Jesus the sex wasn’t even that good. Jesus apologizes to Emma, promising the sex with Jayden didn’t mean anything. Emma thinks they need time apart to have other relationships. Though neither of them wants that, they need to figure out who they are without each other first. If it’s meant to be, they’ll find a way back.

Jim and Diane ask Stef about her family tree tattoo before grilling Lena about her plans for the state assembly seat. Lena says she would want more healthcare and education services but tells them she’s not going to run after all. Diane promises to support her and have her friends host some fundraisers if she changes her mind.

Callie finds out she got the courtship with the more progressive judge in San Francisco. Jamie congratulates her but reminds her the weather is much better in Los Angeles where the more conservative judge is located and she could also possibly make more of a difference working with him. Jamie reminds her he is also in LA, and Callie kisses him.

When the family gets back home, Jesus immediately goes to sulk on the couch. Mariana cheers him up by asking him to accompany her to Europe. Jesus is surprised, but Mariana tells him he’s her best friend, teasing him not to tell Callie.

Corey (Dallas Younger) took the bus to the Adams Foster house, telling Stef and Lena he was afraid they wouldn’t let them pick him up. He saw his mother while they were gone, and she really wants him back. He’s confused now, and Lena reassures him that’s okay.

Jude goes to talk to his moms, admitting he’s on academic probation and could lose his scholarship. Callie joins them in the room and Jude opens up, saying he wanted to prove he could leave home and succeed at a big university like his siblings. However, he feels lost and felt like he should try to handle things on his own since everyone is busy. He misses everyone being home together. Lena apologizes for not realizing how much he was struggling and not doing a great job keeping in touch. He, Callie and the moms cuddle.

Corey talks to his mom (KJ Smith) in the Adams Foster backyard. She reassures him how much she loves him, and the two hug. Corey tearfully lets Stef and Lena know that he’s going to live with his mom, but they reassure him they’ll still be part of his life forever.

A few days later at dinner, the whole family is back together. Stef and Lena still talk to Corey every day, his mom is doing well and they’re going to Disney next week. Callie announces that she took the job in LA. Mariana is upset, as she accepted the position in San Francisco to be closer to Callie. Callie tells her if she takes the offer in LA instead they could be roommates.

Stef and all the kids tell Lena they want her to run for State Assembly. They think she could make a wonderful difference. Even though it will mean selling the house, they will always have the memories. Lena agrees, excited for the new opportunity.

Brandon tells Callie they made the right choice. If they would have chosen each other over the family they probably would have flamed out and might not even be in each other’s lives anymore. This way, they can remain best friends forever.

Three months later, Stef and Lena say goodbye to Frankie’s tree and reminisce on all the incredible things that happened in the house. They all carry the final boxes to the cars and moving vans before taking a final family picture in front of the home and driving away.
