Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) For me, it’s kinda hard to put a name to it because I’m still always up in the air about what I want to sound like. I’m trying to find the middle ground between Springsteen and Alt rock.

Q) Your new single “I Feel Fine,” produced by Eric Palmquist, is out now. What was the writing process like for the song? Did you have the lyrics or the music first?

A) It’s always the melody that comes up first for me. I then got the line “I Feel Fine” down and went from there.

Q) My favorite part of the song is “World’s wеarin’ down on my breathing. Lately my eyes have been stranded up on the ceiling. Do you find me vain? I know you judge my pain. It’s myself I have to face, I’m walkin’ this road alone. Someone get me out of this feeling.” Talk to me about the story behind it.

A) That was written in a rewrite session with Eric Palmquist. Eric always tries to get me to try and paint a picture when I’m writing lyrics, which was the entire goal of that verse, to visually describe how I’m feeling without saying how I’m feeling. “I Feel Fine” is pretty much a pick me up for 80´s lovers.

Q) What do you hope people take away from it?

A) I just hope people can get pumped up to it. I wanted to make sure there was a lot of energy behind it. There’s a couple synth parts that are a bit deeper in the mix I hope some people can hear too.

Q) Have you received any specific feedback about the song that has stayed with you?

A) The “Walmart Panic! At the Disco” comment is probably gonna stick with me until I die.

Q) “I Feel Fine” follows some of your recent singles, the chantable “All I Know” and danceable “Nights Like These.” Which would you say it was the most challenging to write?

A) “Nights Like These” was for sure the most challenging just because it was the one that stuck out from the pack.

Q) You debuted back in 2018 with “This Bird Has Flown,” produced by multi-platinum producer Matt Squire who has worked with artists like Panic! At The Disco and Ariana Grande. What attracted you to work with him?

A) For me, it was the fact that I was really into a lot of music that he had worked on before and Matt specializes in trying to help newer acts find a sound.

Q) Your first live show ever took place on December 4th in Pittsburgh at Thunderbird Café & Music Hall. What were you looking forward to the most about being on stage?

A) I was excited just to be playing somewhere that’s not our rehearsal space. The space to move around is definitely something I was excited about.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) For sure I would love to collaborate with Jack Antonoff, if I ever had the choice to.

Q) What would you like to say to fans and supporters of you and your music?

A) Hope you all are keeping your heads above water. Just keep on going.
