“Hello, Netflix Yeah, I’ve got a book I’d like you to make into a television series.” Frankie Lorde deserves her own show and I’m not sure why it hasn’t happened yet. Author Brittany Geragotelis has written a spunky, tough young lady who happens to be the daughter of a very well-known international thief. While he is in jail, she remains on the loose (living with her Uncle Scotty – a detective) and helping to use the skills she was taught to help right wrongs. While the Frankie Lorde series of books is targeted to young adults, readers of all age will find themselves falling for and cheering on this bad guy raised girl with a heart of gold in The Infamous Frankie Lord: No Admissions.

With the help of “partner” Ollie (I picture a mini Bowen Yang) and new buddy June, Frankie’s latest adventure finds her uncovering a plot at her school by parents looking to buy their children’s way into elite schools. Yeah, not on Frankie’s watch. She makes it her mission – and Ollie’s – to set things straight…and maybe take down her nemesis Annabelle in the process. Things get a little bit hinky though when Frankie finds herself in a spat with Ollie, feeling like she has no voice in what happens in her life and wondering if she is willing to open up to allow new friends to find their way in. Regardless, when Frankie has her mind set on something – she is determined.

Author Geragotelis does an incredible job at intriguing and captivating readers. The series reminds me of the Nickelodeon show “K.C. Undercover” – if we followed middle school Kacey who had been raised in a life of crime rather than by secret agents. You want Frankie to take down “Mr. Admissions.” Plus, you care about her relationship with caregiver/uncle. Oh, and did I mention I really want Ollie and June to find their place in Frankie’s world? Yes, please!

The Infamous Frankie Lord: No Admissions engrosses, engages and captivates readers from one page to the next, so be ready to find yourself a forever Frankie Lorde stan. Whether it is her heartbreaking history, her passion for helping others or the friends she finds along the way, my fingers are crossed that she sticks around for many more books to come. (Please make this into a TV show.)
