Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I definitely fall into the country/pop genre. I love the story telling of country music with my California/pop influences. It was late 90’s/early millennial female country artists that helped me create what I consider my sound. Dynamic, big choruses have always been my passion. I like to demonstrate my range in the songs I release. Because a lot of my focus is on the vocal, I love to tell a story melodically just as much as I do lyrically.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) My key musical influences are Celine Dion and Michael Jackson. Not necessarily their sound but their work ethic and how brilliant that are/were. Leann Rimes, JoDee Messina, Faith Hill and Carrie Underwood are hands down my country influences. Their distinctive vocals have always influenced how choose songs. They have such powerful vocals that are distinctively different from one another. That’s what I strive to do.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “About Love.”

A) I’ve been recently all about the “happy” love songs, which is so not like me. But I want to share with listeners exactly where I am in life as I release music. I know it won’t always line up perfectly like that, but so far, it’s been working!

“About Love” is about trying to convey the feeling of love with things and events that we can actually describe. Love is something you can’t necessarily feel or touch but an undeniable feeling. It’s something that can feel so big that it’s hard to describe. This song is about feeling a love so great and trying to find a way to make someone feel that great love. Some things aren’t meant to be described but only felt. I believe that’s what love is all about.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) The free spirit nature of the tempo. It’s undeniably fun. Then moving passed the tempo, it’s all about love. A feeling and a language that is universal. At one point or another we have or will fall in love. It’s first thrills of feeling that feeling that we all chase.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) I wanted to tell a story of someone meeting someone for the first time, the instant chemistry…the first sparks. I believe in love at first sight. I believe in being swept off your feet like a fairytale – even if it’s only for a moment. That’s what I wanted to do with this video.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) As of right now I have yet to release something I have written. I am obsessed with the art of listening and relating to something just like a listener would do when they buy or stream a song. I am still such a fan of the work that songwriters here in Nashville are capable of. It’s magic. I want to bring that magic to life for people to latch onto it as if it was their story to tell. But, typically, I’m a lyric girl. I love writing. I love expressing my feelings through words. Melodically I’m not as talented. I love a good melody I just have a hard time coming up with it.

Q) How much of a hand do you have when it comes to the production side of your music?

A) I’m very honest with where my strengths and weaknesses are. I love being alongside of production, but I know I trust my team and when I have ideas they listen and when they have ideas, I trust them.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) I released an EP back in 2019 and I am happy to say I’ll be releasing another one since the various singles have come out. I feel it’s time to put out another body of work that’s not all singles. I’ve grown since 2019 and want to give listeners another group of songs that will show my growth and where I’ve been.

Q) You recently got to sing the “Star-Spangled Banner” at the Nascar Cup Series Playoff Race. What did that mean to you, personally?

A) It was truly an honor! The National Anthem was the first song I ever sung for a group of people and continued to do since I was five years old. The older I’ve become the more singing it means to me because I now know what those words mean. I am so proud to be an American and every time I get the opportunity to sing it, I want to respect and honor my country.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I love to perform anywhere. Being on stage is my real home, no matter the size of the audience or the venue. However, if I had a choice I would be singing at Disneyland or Disney World. That would be a dream come true.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Anything Rascal Flatts does I am obsessed with but as of recent I love everything Mitchell Tenpenny does. I would love to collaborate with him…or Jordan Davis! Both of those men’s voices make me melt.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) Anything Lauv. He’s so mystical. He’s enchanting and it reels me in every time. He does no wrong in my book. My musical lives are so all over the place so I understand how confusing it may all seem!

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Social media is the new way of doing things. I don’t think there is any way around it. I need to be better I can tell you that. I just hate always being on my phone. But why it’s so special and amazing is that anyone can get ahold of anyone. I can directly communicate with everyone and personally respond which is unlike anything I had when I was growing up and was a fan of someone. That’s special. The feeling that you personally know someone and can feel more connected than ever with the people you listen to adds another element to it.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you. I’ll never be able to personally hug or thank you all in person even though I want to. This has been my dream since I was five years old. Like many other artists, this is all we’ve ever wanted. To connect. To feel seen. To belong. That’s what listeners have done for me. Just as much as I hope that’s what my music does for them. So, thank you! You are making my dreams come true.
