Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy, and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments, so keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!

Drama: The Good Doctor, Breakdown” – A shattered Shaun

Shaun (Freddie Highmore) has tried it Dr. Han’s (Daniel Dae Kim) way for long enough. Monday’s episode broke Shaun down to tears while he explosively told Dr. Han that he wanted his job as a surgeon back. My heart shattered having to watch this scene. Freddie is great as Dr. Shaun Murphy and the moments where he demonstrates how difficult it is for Shaun to be emotional are some of the most eye-catching. This one was no different. I stand on Shaun’s side in him deserving to have his job back and I feel Dr. Han is making a mistake with the actions he’s taking. Sadly, the upcoming season finale doesn’t make me hopeful about how things will proceed with these two.

Comedy: Young Sheldon, “Albert Einstein and the Story of Another Mary” – Why weren’t you Sheldon?

Sheldon’s (Iain Armitage) hero, Albert Einstein, had him trying the violin and becoming Jewish just to see if he could manage to be a brilliant scientist. Sheldon’s talk with Rabbi Schneiderman (John Rubinstein) gave him the “Aha!” moment that he needed to set him back on track to being the person that he needed to be– himself. I loved this scene because we’ve all been through something like this. We will take on something new just because we’ve seen a role model do it or want to be the next great “something,” but it’s not just about trying to get good at it like the other person. You have to be good at it for yourself. Everything is not for everybody, so it was good to see a young Sheldon go through this, too.

Sci-fi/Fantasy: Charmed, “Manic Pixie Nightmare” – A Pixie with an agenda.

After hunting down a vengeful pixie we find out that Chloe (Emily Bader) isn’t so bad afterall. Zack (Adam DiMarco) stole her heart and made her kill people. The Charmed Ones suggesting that her and other pixies band together like they do so that they can protect their acorns was my favorite moment. She obviously was so easily targeted by Zach. Having a way to protect her heart – that is so easily accessible – will definitely benefit her and others in the future. She seemed like a normal pixie once her heart was out of the wrong hands, so I was happy to see her be able to go back to living her best life.
