Top 3 TV Moments – June 28 – July 3

Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy or reality TV and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments. So, keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!

Drama: The Baby-Sitter’s Club, “Claudia and Janine” – The more you know…

When Mimi (Takayo Fischer) has a stroke it causes the dynamics between the sisters to get more interesting. Janine (Aya Furukawa) tells Claudia (Momona Tamada) about the internment camps Mimi was placed in when she was younger. The moment the two sisters have in the hospital brings so many pieces of this complex relationship together. Even though Janine isn’t as emotional as most, she still feels and understands the pain of what is going on around her. This moment also sparks Claudia to find something that makes doing art worth it. It’s a beautiful moment to see the two sisters show affection towards one another and also be understanding of each other. The show did a great job of adapting this moment to show children how to deal with big, unexpected life changes.

Comedy/Reality TV: Central Park, “Squirrel, Interrupted” – “I wanna finish this hunt with you.”

Owen (Leslie Odom Jr.) runs all the way back to the house just so he can read the books that Cole (Tituss Burgess) loves so much. He wants to be a better father and help Cole without nagging him the rest of the time. I really liked this moment in the park. It showed that even when you don’t like something a family member or friend likes, it’s okay to still be supportive and just be there for them.

Sci-fi/Fantasy: Warrior Nun, “Psalm 46:5” – A mysterious beginning.

The opening moments of this mysterious new series was definitely a great eye-catching opener. When they eject the fiery symbol from a fallen warrior’s back and inject it into Ava’s (Alba Baptista), I immediately wanted to know more. It was a great way to start a series and definitely has you asking many questions from the very beginning of the episode. As things immediately start to change and kickoff the show, that image sticks with you throughout as a symbol to ask what does it all mean exactly.
