Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy or reality TV and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments. So, keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!

Drama: All Rise, “Keep Ya Head Up” – Black Women!

Lola’s (Simone Missick) monologue about how black women have to constantly have it harder than others, especially when they’re in powerful positions, was one of the best moments of All Rise thus far. After the year we have had it is good to see a black woman on television voice the frustrations we have been sitting with throughout our entire lives. Lola was in a tough position, but her expression of exhaustion and mentally taxing being ridiculed more than your counterparts brought a great moment to our screens. I have been really nervous about all the shows returning that decided to include recent events, but All Rise pulled it off well. I believe that had a great deal to do with all the black women involved in the moment– Simone Missick, Kimberly A. Harrison and Erica Watson.

Comedy/Reality TV: The Great British Bake Off, “Episode 11” – I knew it!

Peter Sawkins won this year’s Great British Bake Off! I could tell just by viewing the season’s first episode who was going to win it all. He has been the most consistent throughout the series and constantly wowed the judges. I was so happy to see him win and hated that he didn’t get to have the usual family gathering picnic like the other seasons. However, with all the extreme challenges stacked against them, Peter continued to deliver and pulled it off this year. I am so happy for him. Also, the epilogue letting us know that his flatmates had no idea he was on the show was the best thing to mention.

Sci-fi/Fantasy: The Outpost, “Go Ahead and Run” – The power they possess.

The opening scene was the eye-catcher of the episode with Queen Gwynn Calkussar (Imogen Waterhouse) and Yavalla (Jaye Griffiths) walking into the Capital without any hassle. The ascended the Capital with the utmost power and elegance and those who briefly wanted them overtaken were removed. A nice and sweet, yet effective cold open.
