Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy or reality TV and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments. So, keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!

Drama: Watchmen, “This Extraordinary Being” –  Nostalgia

When a young Will (Jovan Adepo) decided to put on the hood and become Hooded Justice things started to make a lot of sense. When he painted his eyes white and we realized that Angela (Regina King) was painting hers the same way, only in black, it was a way to connect the two without her even knowing it. The entire episode was a moment and definitely one of my favorite hours of television in a long time. The cast and crew did a stunning job with this episode. I’m mostly confused with what’s happening on this show, but can still appreciate its brilliance and this episode was definitely one to talk about. From incredible transitions to acting— this was a beautiful hour. Even though we knew that was Angela’s grandfather, it was nice to finally see a connection between them and see how the events of his time led to what we see in their world today.

Comedy: Bob Hearts Abishola, “We Were Beggars, Now We Are Choosers” –  Fight for her!

Bob (Billy Gardell) and Abolisha’s (Folake Olowofoyeku) circling around each other came to a stop when Bob decided he would let Abolisha be with Chukwuemeka (Tony Tambi). Abolisha is not a woman who needs a man to choose anything for her, so seeing her tell Bob that was great. After meeting Chukuemeka, Bob thought that it would be best for Abolisha to date him instead. I love how Abolisha says that a man would fight if he cared instead of just giving up. Hopefully, Bob sees how wrong he’s going about all of this because we can clearly see that Abolisha wants him to try harder to be with her.

Sci-fi/Fantasy: The Flash – “The Last Temptation of Barry Allen, Part 1” – The battle between life or suffering.

It’s kind of hard to pick a favorite moment from this episode after the outstanding performance Grant Gustin gave this week. I loved all of the high-intensity scenes just as much as I loved the sweeter, yet still intense, moments like when Barry was able to sit with Iris (Candice Patton) and hold their baby. However, I’ll choose one scene for the sake of this piece and that is Speed Force Nora (Michelle Harrison) trying to get Barry to see that not choosing Bloodwork’s (Sendhil Ramamurthy) way pushed him in the wrong direction. The final scene inside Barry’s mind where Barry is fighting to stay was so well acted by Gustin. You could see how painful it was for him to think about everything he has and how it would break him if he had to go back to being the hero who has to take the suffering and not get the happiness.  He and Michelle Harrison are so great in their scenes that it’s hard not to get emotionally attached even though she isn’t there to be Nora Allen, but the Speed Force. The Speed Force telling him that he would lose more by choosing to be taken over by Bloodwork had him ready to make the right choice. She helped him see how his being a hero was different than just saving people and living Bloodwork’s way. Thankfully, not having to suffer and being able to continue to live his life was more appealing to Barry. It was heartbreakingly sad to watch Barry fight with his doubts. Seeing him literally being tugged by the darkness and the light forced Barry to make a decision. I am extremely excited to see Part Two because Part One was done so well. I need more writing and performances like this, please!
