Top 3 TV Moments – October 4 – October 9
By: Malasha Parker
Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy or reality TV and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments. So, keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!
Drama: Power Book II: Ghost, “The Gift of the Magi” – The secret’s out!
Saxe’s (Shane Johnson) niece drugs Tariq (Michael Rainey, Jr.) and ultimately gives Saxe the weapon he needs to take Tariq down for good. After being drugged at his birthday party, Tariq goes to his sister’s grave and confesses that he was the one to murder Ghost. This is all caught on video by Saxe’s niece and is definitely going to cause some major problems for his mom’s case. Not to mention what it’s going to do for Tariq and his new family.
Comedy/Reality TV: The Real Housewives of Potomac, “Sorry… Not Sorry” – Who you got?
Let’s talk about the biggest fight in the Potomac— Monique Samuels vs Candiace Dillard! After the huge blowout, the women all decided to sit down to hear Monique’s views on the situation. Personally, I have no hard feelings for Monique. I believe they were both in the wrong and it was all handled poorly, but everybody has their limit. I hate the narrative of black women having to always hold it together because of how we will be viewed in the public eye. Everyone is flawed and everyone has a breaking point. Also, news flash! Every race fights! Telling Black women they’re not allowed to because of how they will be seen through the white eye is not helpful at all. I loved watching this episode and seeing the different points of view. Some more than others have a lot of self-awareness that they still need to work through. What are your thoughts?
Sci-fi/Fantasy: The Haunting of Bly Manor, “The Great Good Place” – A locked door.
The kids locking Au Pair Dani (Victoria Pedretti) in the closet after having multiple mysterious mishaps was the highlight of the premiere. It brought the suspense that was slowly growing and gave the children’s eerie demeanors even more of a platform to display itself on. Plus, Pedretti’s fearful performance was something to love.
