Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy or reality TV and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments. So, keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!

Drama: L.A.’s Finest, “The Curse of the Black Pearl” – A time to let go!

Nancy (Jessica Alba) tells Syd (Gabrielle Union) that she realizes she married Patrick (Ryan McPartlin) because he was safe and she needed an escape from her past. It’s safe to say that Nancy’s marriage doesn’t look like it’s going to make it through the season. They’re already walking on eggshells in the house and Nancy seems to have already started to move into another direction. Things are already getting juicy!

Comedy/Reality TV: Woke, “Rhymes with Broke” – Everything comes from something.

Before Keef (Lamorne Morris) has his life-altering moment, he speaks to Ayana (Sasheer Zamata) at the store who is a huge fan of his cartoons. She wants to hear him speak about how his cartoons relate to the black experience, but Keef tries to say that the cartoons have no deeper meaning. But, unfortunately, everything has a deeper meaning whether we realize it or not. Keef soon finds out that his cartoons just might and this moment in the shop was my favorite to see him deny that fact.

Sci-fi/Fantasy: Julie and the Phantoms, “Wake Up” – Her mom would be so proud!

Julie (Madison Reyes) finally plays the piano in the final moments of the premiere and oh my gosh, what a moment! I wasn’t sure if I was going to continue watching this show past the first episode, but when Julie started singing I was blown away. She has an amazing voice and the moment where she looks at the last page of her mom’s music made me smile right alongside her. This was a great scene and an excellent way to keep viewers hooked in for the next episode. Reyes has an extraordinary voice and I can’t wait to see what more she has to offer in this series!
