Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Eclectic Pop

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Earth Wind And Fire

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Hbls Mucho.”

A) This song talks about indiscrete people and about a secret love affair, but the other person talks a lot.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) That we all have secrets and that we want to speak, but sometimes we can’t handle people talking too much. [laughs]

Q) How did you connect with Chetes to work with on the remix?

A) I met him in Monterrey, Mexico when we performed over there. He came to the show because he was going to sing with Ruzzi, so we talked and made a great connection and I invited him to collaborate with me, and it turned out amazing.

Q) How does your Mexican heritage influence your music?

A) A lot. I’m a border girl. I grew up between Mexico and US and I think that makes me have a lot of different perspectives on life, on how I think, and feel.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) Sometimes I just sit down and start making a beat and some synths and then I put a melody and at the end the lyrics and sometimes the opposite. For me there is no rules for songwriting, just to let it flow. Sometimes the music comes first or the lyrics. It all depends on the mood and the creative flow.

Q) What songs off your Tornaluna album are you looking forward to performing live?

A) All of them. [smiles]

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from listening to the album as a whole?

A) Inner Peace, understanding and to feel good.

Q) What can fans expect from a live Vanessa Zamora performance?

A) Different moods and lots of fun.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) Mexico City is one of my favorite cities to perform and I think it’s because of the energy, bonding and connection that you can get.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Benny Sings

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) Vulfpeck and Kali Uchis

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Because it’s almost the only immediate way to stay in touch with my fams, and I love it.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) THANK YOU, YOU ARE THE BOMB!
