Web Series Wednesday – Clairevoyant

WHO?: This series is written by and stars Natasha Negovanlis and Annie Briggs.

WHY SHOULD I WATCH?

If you watched Carmilla and fell in love with Natasha Negovanlis and Annie Briggs then you should most certainly watch this series. If while watching the crazy going-ons at Silas University you ever said to yourself, “I love the chemistry between Carmilla and Perry, I wish they had more scenes together,” then you should watch this series.  If you want to watch two incredibly talented actresses in roles unlike those that they have played before, you should watch this series.

Claire (Natasha Negovanlis) is best friend and roommate to Ruby (Annie Briggs). Claire is the far more reasonable and grounded of the pair and it is her 25^th birthday. Claire aspires to be a writer so her more outgoing and less color-inside-the-lines bestie decides to self-publish Claire’s personal poems. The downside is that in order to do so Ruby has reallocated over four-thousand dollars of their rent money in order to pay for the books. Further complicating matters is that unless they can come up with the money in a matter of weeks, they will be evicted. Happy Birthday Claire!

Claire decides to take extra shifts at the coffee shop she works at and Ruby decides they should be online psychics. At first, Claire is very hesitant, but once she sees how quickly they are making money she is on board. Here is where the plot gets even more interesting…Claire is actually a psychic. She doesn’t realize that she actually has the gift! It seems that Claire comes from a line of powerful gypsies so as the ladies are predicting the future for their customers, Claire has glimpses of the future and gives accurate reading after accurate reading. This just serves to make the two girls even more popular and profitable.

In Carmilla, Natasha played the cool and confident lead role. In this series you get to see the dorkier side of Natasha as she plays a loveable, adorakble, insecure, well meaning, hot mess that is Claire. In this series, you also get to see the wilder side of Annie Briggs as she plays the free spirited, thinking outside-the box, rules were made to be broken Ruby. Watching these two play off each other in these vastly different roles is addictive and has me looking forward to every Wednesday when new episodes are released.  Claire and Ruby are my new favorite odd couple.
