WHY SHOULD I WATCH?

Love, Guns & Level Ups is an award winning action rom-com about video games and online dating. The six part series follows international cosplayer Bree (Lisa Fanto) and introverted game developer Elliot (Eduard Geyl) as they discover the challenges of a real-world relationship after initially connecting online.

A romance set against a videogame backdrop? Sign me up. Described as “Notting Hill with guns” and featuring the perfect mix of colorful animation, pop culture fandom and strong performances, Love, Guns & Level Ups may just be my favorite web series I’ve watched this year. It hit all the marks for me. I was immediately drawn in and the chemistry between the two leads makes their coupling extremely easy to root for. It’s also obvious how much blood, sweat and tears went into creating the series and the end goal is something the Fury Fingers crew should certainly be proud of. They perfectly integrated the dating world into the gaming one, and created something special.

“Episode 3: Non-Conventional Meet Up” was my favorite of the series. Bree was the featured cosplayer at the Adelaide Supanova Convention, leaving Elliot to watch as fans fawned over her. It highlights some of Elliot’s insecurities and just when things look bad for the pair, Bree finds him in the crowd and the sparks fly. The visual of them making heart eyes at each other in the Space Invaders arcade light is a truly special moment. Scenes of things turning playful and physical spliced between them competing in array of classic video games is the series at its very best. A perfect episode start to finish and a wonderful example of all the things that make Love, Guns & Level Ups succeed.

Anyone who considers themselves a gamer, casual or diehard will definitely enjoy this series. But you don’t have to be into video games to fall for Love, Guns & Level Ups. The series is booming with heart and romantic comedy fans and action fans alike will love what it has to offer. Don’t miss out on this hot new series, you’ll regret it if you do.
