WHY SHOULD I WATCH?

#Luimelia is a Spanish web series that came out as a result of the tremendous international success of the couple formed by Luisita Gómez and Amelia Ledesma played by Paula Usero and Carol Rovira. #Luimelia is actually a spinoff from the daily series Amar Es Para Siempre (“Love in Difficult Times”) currently airing its eighth season on Antena 3. Even though in the original series the couple is going under the reality of a 1977 Spain, the creators have decided to go one step further placing this version forty-three years later and into the 2020. The timeline change allows for the chances of a new reality for these characters, taking advantage of social media and the current platforms.

In this new scenario we will be witness to how Luisita and Amelia’s love story is written all over again, allowing us to walk along with them through their very first encounter, their first date and their struggles – all in an era that shades a different light over them. As it is expected, “Luimelia” does not come alone in this all-new adventure. Jonás Berami and Lucía Martín, who were also part of the original series, has joined them. Actress Lena Fernández and Anto Garzía will also have guest appearances. The pilot episode called “Luisita and Amelia” was released in a very timely manner on February 14^th as a way to celebrate love, introducing the characters’ lives and leading us all the way until the moment they are finally met followed by their second episode “First Date” on February 16^th.

The full web series is formed by six episodes between eight and twelve minutes long that are planned to be released every Sunday. Given the international recognition of this couple, it was announced that all of the episodes will have English subtitles. The web series has been created for the Atresmedia streaming platform ATRESplayer PREMIUM by Diana Rojo and Borja Glez. Santaolalla are also part of the creative team of “Amar Es Para Siempre.” Needless to say, the level of chemistry between Paula Usero and Carol Rovira, who have been working together for a couple of years since their characters relationship came to life on TV, once again manage to go way beyond the screen warming the audiences’ hearts creating a very natural and authentic dynamic between them.

If you are already a fan of Luisita and Amelia there is no doubt that #Luimelia is your show. And if you are still not aware of it, be ready for your heart melt since this web series might offer a very interesting and different turn of how true love always conquers time and space.
