WHY SHOULD I WATCH?

This series is created by, written by and directed by Amanda Holland. Need I say more? Everything this amazing woman touches is pure comedy gold. She is the lesbian Midas in my opinion. This series has one couple asking, “Would we be together in alternate universes?” Parallel follows Sam (Aliee Chan) and Alex (Alyssa Ariel Perez) through different realities and tests whether or not this couple is meant to be in every incarnation.

Sam is the far more talkative member of the couple who believes in cuddles without limit (me too Sam, me too) and whose mind is always going a million miles a minute. She likes romance, but not cheesy romance. And while she is reluctant to make the first move, when she does so she does it in an epic fashion. Alex seems far more confident and calmer. She feels that Ross is the worst character on the show Friends and I whole heartily agree with her on that. However, she seems to be afraid of true intimacy – not sex, just intimacy. She feels stifled by cuddle sessions that last longer than seven minutes, but she is also a cheesy romantic and is surprisingly the more likely of the two to make a cutsey declaration of love. When it comes down to making difficult decisions, Sam will eventually always follow her heart, no matter the consequences.

In the first reality Alex and Sam are contract killers. In the second reality they live in a world without the internet. The contract killers reality was action packed, steamy and over flowing with both comedy and heart. The world without an internet was so funny. The lengths one would have to go to if you lost someone else’s number with no internet, no Google and no Google maps…It makes me incredibly grateful for the internet for so many reasons.

If you want to find out if Alex and Sam are meant to be in any and every reality, then you will have to watch. No spoilers here! One thing I know for certain, in any reality you will love this series!
