WHAT? Passage The Series
BY: Representation Matters Production and Tello Films
WHY SHOULD I WATCH?
Passage The Series is science fiction meets LGBTQ+ representation. You don’t get a combination like this every day. This series is not yet released, but the amazing people at Representation Matters Production and Tello Films were kind enough to provide me with an advanced screening of the first two episodes. After watching the screener, I immediately wanted my computer to start the third episode and every episode thereafter. Sadly, there were only the two. The end of episode two is epic and jaw dropping that it left me craving more.
I don’t want to give too much away, nor am I allowed. Each scene of this series pulls you further into its addictive world and leaves you with more and more questions. I thought at first this was just a series about a special agent who helped ghosts get closure thereby giving them “passage” into the afterlife, but it is so much more than meets the eye. What I can tell you is that the first two episodes leave you with far more questions than answers and I have a feeling that this will be as addictive and mysterious as the television series “Alias,” where each episode you find out a little more and also find out there are so many conspiracies and so many secrets that you still don’t know. Much like Level 3 Janus Agent Ali Prader (Shannan Leigh Reeve), we will be left wondering who to trust and who are the actual good guys.
What I can tell you is that the cast is amazing. The chemistry between Nicole Pacent (who plays Kate) and Shannan Leigh Reeve is palpable and hypnotic. Reeve truly owns the rugged, determined, self-sufficient driven persona of Agent Prader. Also in the cast is Mandahla Rose playing Agent Diana Atwell. The series starts with her first day on the job for Caelus, a special branch of the CIA. Atwell provides the “tech” to Prader’s “tach,” but much like the series as a whole I know there is far more to Atwell and I can’t wait to learn her secrets.
The crew that created this series is all female. Hillary Esquina, the writer of the series, was discovered through the Pitch to Production competition that Tello Films held, proving that great talent can be found in many places. The story is exciting, edgy, loving, passionate, mysterious and that is just the first two episodes. I can’t wait to see the rest of this series! If you are at ClexaCon this week you should definitely join me in attending the Web Series Premiere on Friday night, April 12th, at 9:00pm. If you can’t make ClexaCon this year, you should follow this series on Twitter (link below) and watch it as soon as it premieres on the Tello Films website (link below).
WHERE CAN I WATCH? The series is set to be released Summer of 2019 by Tello Films on their site.
