WHAT?  Total Party Kill

BY: Ryerson’s Media Production Program & Ryerson’s Transmedia Zone

WHO? This series is created and written by Alyssa Appleton.

WHY SHOULD I WATCH?

If your best friends were over at your house or apartment for a game night and then the apocalypse started, and you were all mandatorily quarantined while 8-foot tall beasts or demons rampaged the Earth, would you survive? This is the premise of Total Party Kill. Thankfully, this group of friends is very diverse and brings a lot of different talents to the table. You have Kat (Alyssa Appleton) who appears to be at least bisexual, as she has had a previous sexual relationship with Chase (Chris McGahan) and currently has an undeniable attraction to Desiree (Alyssa Ariel Perez). Kat is brave, a natural born leader and the least likely to sit back and just let an apocalypse happen. Kat is a natural fighter and survivor who has been able to keep her head in a crisis. Chase is the DM or dungeon master of their game nights. Chase is also brave and calm in a crisis. Chase also brings levity to very stressful situations mostly in lame pick-up lines.  Jamie (Jennifer Karraz) is my favorite character and the yet another invaluable friend you need to have by your side if you are going to survive an apocalypse. Jamie is a wonderful combination of Hermione Granger and Willow Rosenberg. Jamie loves books and mysterious and thirst for knowledge. While other friends are freaking out about their current situation, Jamie is hitting the books and trying to find a solution.

If I could only choose one of these friends to be in my survival group of friends, I would hands down choose Jamie. Jamie is dating Brandon (played by Quinn Knox) who appears to be very good with technology and electronics.  Stef (Sascha Vanderslik) is the resident Huffle Puff of the group and is completely devoted and loyal to her friends and her girlfriend Lacie (Kyle Marie Colucci). Lacie is rescued by Kat and Chase and brought back to Kat’s apartment. However, Lacie may have been infected or possessed by whatever is rampaging the Earth. By saving her girlfriend did Stef just put herself and all of her friends at risk? In order to find out you will have to tune in. If you enjoy the mystery solving and demon slaying in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and Carmilla with the same whit, snark and likeable protagonists then you are sure to enjoy Total Party Kill.
