The show opens with Josh (Jonathan Sadowski) and Gabi (Emily Osment) having a date night at his place. They are talking about their relationship and how it took them two years to get his far when we see Sofia (Aimee Carrero) next to them, finishing off the wine.

Josh says she finished it all and she says she is tipsy. Gabi says Sofia should stay there for the night, while Sofia gets more wine. Josh asks what are guest rooms for, but seems annoyed. Sofia then asks who will take her upstairs.

Gabi and Josh are in bed together kissing when Sofia walks in, asking for a toothbrush. Josh is annoyed and tells Gabi they need to find Sofia a man because they need alone time. They discuss several possibilities, all of which Gabi shoots down. Josh finally tells her he can introduce her to his dentist and Sofia, who was listening at the door, walks in and agrees.

The next morning, Josh and Gabi are kissing in the kitchen when Elliot (Rex Lee) walks in. Josh asks him to convert files for his meeting, which Gabi thinks is cute. They kiss some more and Josh says ‘I love you,’ which Elliot says back in a sarcastic manner.

Yolanda (Kym Whitley) walks in and says he walks talking to Gabi. Elliot admits he wishes he and Alan had what Gabi and Josh have. He feels that things are flat in the bedroom. Yolanda quips it is after he rolls off Alan and offers to do a sexy photoshoot with him to spice things back up. He is shocked she has such a job, but she says it is because she needed an excuse to be in a locker room. She tells him to figure out Alan’s fantasy, which ends up paying homage to Alan’s favorite show “Real Dog Sledders of Alaska.” Yolanda is horrified and ends up drinking scotch before she can begin.

Gabi and Josh have their double date with Sofia and Dick the Dentist (Tim Rock). The two seem to hit it off and while Dick and Gabi clean up, Sofia says she is happy and wants to really show Dick. Josh says she will ruin it by being desperate. He goes inside and sees Elliot in his photoshoot outfit, working on the converting. Josh is confused by the outfit and Elliot says it would only be an outfit if he was wearing pants.

Gabi and Dick are in the kitchen talking. Dick thinks Sofia is the best and jokes about her being after his nitros hookup. While they talk, he gets a text from his ex asking him to give back her stuff. Gabi doesn’t like this and tricks him into giving her his phone so she can see the texts. She is shocked and sends him outside, saying Sofia is eating caramel and screams for Josh.

Josh doesn’t think it is a big deal and says Dick is into Sofia and he loves Dick, everyone loves Dick and it would be funny if it were different circumstances. Gabi thinks you text the ex for sex and makes an appointment to get her hair done by Kayla the ex.

At the salon, she sees Kayla (Leslie-Anne Huff) is pretty. Gabi tells Kayla about Sofia and Kayla is shocked he is seeing someone already. She says she is done with Dick and Gabi is bothering her. She asks what Gabi wants done to her hair. Gabi wants to know what costs $3 and Kayla snarks it was her last haircut. Gaby wonders how she knew that.

At the house, Yolanda is reading a magazine when she hears the door. She pretends to dust, but it is only Alan (Bryan Safi) thinking that Elliot is cheating on him. Yolanda assures him he isn’t and tells him he was turning into the man Alan wants. Alan thinks he is becoming a Jew and asks Josh if he was converting last night. Josh, thinking he meant work, says he was doing it in the office. Alan thinks this will get him out of therapy and his mother will accept him.

Gabi and Josh have a date night and he is glad it is just the two of them. It turns out Sofia and Dick are there. Gabi says Sofia’s second dates tend to be her last, so she wanted to be there for her. They agree to have one drink with them.

Dick and Sofia are sharing wine with their wine straws when Kayla busts in, saying she loves Dick and proposes. He says yes. As they leave, Kayla sees Gabi and thanks her for inspiring her to go back to Dick. Sofia is upset, and Gabi explains she did what she did to make sure she wouldn’t get hurt. Dick comes back, but it is only to get his straws.

Sofia is upset because Gabi ruined things. Josh is also upset that she got involved. Gabi realized she screwed up, but she loves Sofia too much to see her hurt. Josh thinks he is the third wheel and leaves. The waiter comes with a martini. She only has $3 and tries to flirt her way into getting it for free, but no avail.

Alan goes to see Elliot, saying he knows about the surprise, dropping puns to get him to admit he converted. He brings his mother (Lainie Kazan) in while Elliot goes to get the surprise. Elliot shows the picture. Alan’s mom says he may be Jewish up there, but not down there so she leaves with Alan, canceling the rugula. He says it isn’t him, but Lance Klondike.

Gabi goes home with a cake for Sofia, who is on the couch, wrapped in a blanket. Gabi apologizes to her and Sofia asks if there is ice cream. Sofia wants to know what is wrong with Gabi, who goes on about how she is afraid they are going to lose each other. Sofia admits she does the same thing.

The girls admit things are changing, but agree to make Thursdays their night. Gabi apologizes again, and Sofia says it wouldn’t work out because his name is actually Harry Dick.

Josh goes home and tells Elliot and Yolanda about her fight with Gabi. Elliot tells him about him and Alan, but Josh goes on and on about Gabi. He decides she will have to come to him.

The doorbell rings, but it turns out it is Alan and his mom. His mom gives her blessing and welcomes him into the family. They decide to celebrate with Josh’s wine collection.

Gabi comes in wearing a trench coat and heels, saying it is time for them to be alone. She takes off the coat, not realizing they are NOT alone. Alan’s mom thinks this is what happens here and tries to strip, but they stop her.

The episode ends with Gabi and Josh on their date—with Yolanda.
