The episode opens with Adult Sheldon (Jim Parsons) talking about being a creature of habit .He recalls how his dad (Lance Barber) always opened the mail each day and ending up in a bad mood. This leads to him recalling the day the Coopers got a letter from the IRS, saying they owe them money.

Sheldon (Iain Armitage) is upset over this because he is always perfect at doing taxes. George says it is not a big deal and Mary (Zoe Perry) says he at least was able to get him a good tax return. However, Sheldon cannot let it go and keeps arguing that the IRS made a mistake. George tells them that they are done with the conversation.

Meanwhile, Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Missy (Raegan Revord) watch a movie, which leads to Missy discovering naughty words.  She uses one in front of Mary, who is shocked at her language. Missy insists she meant another word, but Mary doesn’t believe her.

MeeMaw (Annie Potts) and Dale (Craig T. Nelson) go out for dinner. She is surprised he is only eating a salad while she enjoys a steak. He is eating it in order to be healthy for his colonoscopy, but she tells him that he is not helping things since he already has other junk in his body. He ends up jonesing for her steak, but she refuses to share.

Sheldon takes the IRS check that George wrote and decides to take on the IRS himself. He tells the IRS guy (Rob Brownstein) the situation, which only ends up making matters worse.

MeeMaw and Dale talk about the colonoscopy and she tells him to man up about it. He turns the tables on her and makes her get one as well. She is not happy about this at all.

George finds out that they are being audited thanks to Sheldon butting in. This leads to him getting angry and Sheldon getting punished.

Dale and MeeMaw play pool. She still refuses to go to the doctor and he says if she loses she has to go. They end up sharing a drink and deciding to go together.

George goes to a professional CPA to get his taxes checked for the audit. She is shocked by how impeccable they are and tells him to stick with the guy he is using….and is even more shocked when she realizes they were done by a kid.

Missy finds bad words in The Bible and reads them aloud to Mary, who gets annoyed.

Sheldon and the IRS guy battle, with Sheldon using chess analogies. He falls into a mistake, but George gives him a football-esque pep talk, leading to a win. He tells him that he hopes they get audited again so he can run circles around him again.

Dale and MeeMaw discuss their doctors appointments and prepare for the colonoscopies as the episode comes to a close.
