Diana (Miriam Shor) flirts with a hot stranger on her way to work about whether biking or driving is faster in the city. She tells Liza (Sutton Foster) about it and Liza thinks the guy is definitely interested in her.

Liza and her ex-husband David (Paul Fitzgerald) meet with a lawyer to finalize their divorce. David tells the lawyer that he and Liza had sex together a few months ago, which Liza deems irrelevant. David; however, can’t get it off his mind. He reveals he broke up with Debbie. Now that they’re both single, they should give their relationship another try. Liza tells David she’s back together with Josh (Nico Tortorella) and off the market.

Liza makes dinner for Maggie (Debi Mazar), celebrating the fact that her friendship got her through her divorce. She thanks her for allowing her to make a better life for herself.

Kelsey (Hilary Duff) goes out with Colin (Jay Wilkison), the hot New Yorker writer again. He buys her delivery alcohol and wants to know everything about her. She tells him that she got into publishing because she always loved to read when she was younger. Colin has always wanted to be a writer, but his passion is fiction – not journalism. He just finished his novel and he wants a professional opinion from Kelsey. Kelsey agrees to read it, but she’s not very enthused about it. She blows him off when he invites her to his apartment and tells him to email her a copy of the manuscript.

Liza and Josh are going to celebrate her divorce being finalized, but before they can Liza’s lawyer calls saying she put the wrong birthday on the divorce papers—apparently she thinks she’s 26 years old. She and David have to go in and sign an amendment the next day.

Diana tells her crush that she beat him to work that day and they make a date to race on metro bikes after work. Diana spills to Liza who is thrilled for her. Diana assigns her some research on how the “socialist bike system” works.

Kelsey tells Liza she feels used that Colin asked her to read his book on their first date. It’s also a huge gamble on his part, as she won’t continue dating him if he’s a bad writer. The worst part is, the book is 900 pages.

Liza gives Diana a bike helmet, explaining how the whole system works. Diana and her crush ride together, cars honking obnoxiously behind them. He tells her he works as a graphic designer and appreciates beautiful things—after all, she caught his eye. He tells her they should hang out sometime, but not that night since he’s meeting his husband for dinner. He wants to introduce them, as he works in fashion and thinks they would hit it off.

Kelsey tells Liza she has decided to read Colin’s book. She’s ordered food, turned her phone off and is ready to commit.

Disappointed that her crush is gay and taken, Diana abandons the bike in the middle of the sidewalk, forcing Liza to come ride it to the nearest dock. While riding, a construction worker catcalls her. It distracts her and causes her to run into a taxi. Diana gets a text that her bike has been in an accident and rushes to the hospital after downing some wine. Maggie and Josh are already there, trying to convince the nurse to give Liza more pain medication.

Charles (Peter Hermann) is on the way to dinner with Radha’s (India de Beaufort) friends when he gets the call that Liza is in the hospital. He wants to go check on her, which makes Radha jealous. She tells Charles if he ditches her to see Liza, the two of them are over. Charles says he hopes she doesn’t mean that and goes to the hospital.

Diana arrives at the hospital telling Liza that she’s sorry about the accident. From now on, all menial tasks will go to rookie assistant Becky.

Liza is late to the meeting with their mediator, prompting David to call and ask where she is. Maggie answers, telling David that she is in the hospital. He rushes to see her.

Kelsey goes to Colin’s place, telling him she loved the book. They are both relieved and they start making out.

The doctor tells Liza that she will not have to have surgery and should heal quickly. Since the fracture is not on her dominant side, she will be able to return to work immediately. They will also get her a morphine drip for the pain.

Josh tells Maggie he will help out with Liza’s recovery however he can. He is also going to stay overnight with her. Maggie tells him he’s a good guy.

Liza is drugged-up and loopy when Charles arrives. She asks him to cover up her toes and he complies. They share a moment and Liza tells him how nice he is. Charles is about to leave, but Liza asks him to stay so she can tell him something. However, she falls asleep before she can do so and he leaves after gently touching her now covered feet.

David comes in while Liza is half-asleep. Thinking he is Charles, she says that what happened between them meant something to her. If their circumstances were different, maybe their relationship would be too.

Josh and David run into each other in the hallway and they share a tense moment when David says they’re not divorced yet. He rips up and throws away the divorce papers while Josh goes to cuddle with Liza.

At the office, Kelsey apologizes for not being in the hospital with Liza as she just found out about her injury. Liza brushes her off, asking about the manuscript. Kelsey said she read enough to know they have to publish it and the sex was just as good.

Diana apologizes to Liza—Becky’s coffee is undrinkable so she will still have to do one menial task. She also informs her that Charles and Radha broke up. David shoots Liza a text saying how happy he is that she wants to try and work things out, which confuses her.

Charles jokingly asks Liza if her piggies got some good rest, saying how happy he is to have her back. When she doesn’t understand the reference, Charles brushes it off.
