You’re The Worst – A Very Good Boy

The episode begins with Gretchen (Aya Cash) alone, checking into a hotel. I am assuming this is a peek into the future. It is learned her last name is still the same and she has no wedding ring on her finger. She goes up into her room, removes the water and OJ from the mini fridge and leaves the alcohol. She then throws the key out the window. She closes the blinds and gets into a huge bed alone.

We come back to the present. Jimmy (Chris Geere) and Gretchen are looking for a DJ for their wedding. This leads to a discussion that Jimmy is a “good boy” and not a “bad boy.” Edgar (Desmin Borges) agrees and Gretchen says Edgar can testify as a “bad boy” because he has killed people.

Gretchen goes to work, sees a huge buffet, makes herself a plate when her boss interrupts and says she can join the meeting. Everyone at the meeting is introducing new clients to which Gretch has no one prepared…except for the super bad rapper “Nock Nock.”

Jimmy goes to a coffee shop, realizing that he is a “good boy” when the guy next to him asks him to watch his laptop. Jimmy steals it and then returns before the guy gets back because he couldn’t do it. He continues trying to be a bad boy by ordering a street hot dog, littering it, and texting “NO!” to Gretchen when she asked for something. He then he gets scared of her reply and quickly says “JK!”

Meanwhile, Lindsey (Kether Donohue) is jealous of Becca (Janet Varney) and Vernon’s (Todd Robert Anderson) new found love for each other. Edgar suggests that they may try going out on dates. Vernon and Becca are pretending to inseminate Becca with Paul’s (Allan McLeod) semen so he can have a baby and he is paying them every month for it. What he doesn’t know is that they aren’t inserting it into Becca at all, just lying to him and throwing it out the window.

Gretchen goes out to eat with her boss, Yvette (JoNell Kennedy), who questions how she even got this job. It takes a turn when her boss says that she has a lot more potential then she thinks. Gretchen starts crying, and her boss questions, “Bad mom, huh?” Gretchen starts crying harder.

Edgar and Lindsey try and go on their date. It is quite awkward so when Edgar goes to the bathroom Lindsey leaves only to discover that Edgar was sneaking out the bathroom window. They realize they maybe aren’t meant to be together as a couple.

Gretchen’s boss gives her a chance and tells her not to screw it up. She believes in Gretchen even if she doesn’t believe in herself. Jimmy is realizing that being a “bad boy” has been a huge waste of his time. He says, “Maybe being a bad boy is really knowing you can be a bad boy but having the strength to not be.” Suddenly, the girl he is with starts going down on him. He seems to be doing nothing about this as the episode fades out.
