You’re The Worst – Four Goddamn More Days

Cue Gretchen (Aya Cash) looking into a mirror putting on her makeup very nicely. She slips off her bathrobe to reveal a short, sparkly black party dress. She heads down to the bar of the hotel she is staying at. There she meets Curtis (Zach Tinker) who asks her if she is single. She says she is single as a fox, but she ALMOST got married once. WHAT?! She says that she supposes she will tell him the story.

We come to reality and Gretchen is going through Edgar’s (Desmin Borges) medicine cabinet. Jimmy (Chris Geere) and her are going through wedding songs when she rushes off to go to work. It seems like Gretchen could not give a shit about the wedding, but Jimmy suggests she is just super busy with work things.

Gretchen is really partying it up on the beach where she has made herself a little office of sorts. Edgar and Jimmy find out that they located someone else to write the adaptation of Jimmy’s book into a movie, even though Jimmy and Edgar already wrote it.

It turns out that Gretchen was fired because of what happened in the last episode, where she pulled the fire alarm. Lindsay (Kether Donohue) says she will talk to Yvette (JoNell Kennedy) about trying to get Gretchen her job back. It seems though Yvette and Lindsay are hooking up still and have plans to order in and watch a show, but Lindsay suggests she rehire Gretchen and Yvette now says something came up and they cannot hang out.

Edgar calls Gretchen’s work and finds out she is fired. He withholds this information from Jimmy.

Lindsay admits to Vernon (Todd Robert Anderson) that she is a lesbian and he says to take things further she needs to prove she is a real lesbian.

Gretchen comes home and doesn’t acknowledge why Jimmy is upset at all. He says he is so upset they picked a different writer and this has made him realize how hard depression must have been for her, not realizing she is still depressed. In the morning she goes to steal medicine from Edgar, who has moved it. She also admits she doesn’t have a dress yet…even though the wedding is in four days.

Lindsay goes to show Yvette her new lesbian haircut. Yvette says that Lindsay isn’t even a lesbian and she is fired because Lindsay got aggressive.

Gretchen and Lindsay get into a fight because Lindsay thinks she just needs to tell Jimmy she got fired. Edgar thinks the same thing and he expresses this to Gretchen after stalking her at a local dog walking program. He admits he knows everything, which causes Gretchen to break down saying she doesn’t want Jimmy to know because she fails at everything. She doesn’t want to fail with Jimmy. She can’t.

She goes home to find Jimmy who has set up candles for her. While they are dancing around the room she admits she was fired, has been taking Edgar’s pills and hasn’t done a thing for a wedding. Jimmy says that their wedding is going to be amazing and she embraces him tightly. The shot then pans to his face, which looks terrified.
