We start the episode with Jimmy (Chris Geere) driving away with an unknown woman. We then go to Gretchen (Aya Cash) in her bed, phone flowing with important texts, clearly stressed out. She goes to Edgar’s (Desmin Bourges) medicine cabinet for his medicine.

She heads into the kitchen asking Jimmy for coffee and he is ecstatic about it being only twenty-nine days until their wedding, but she doesn’t seem to feel the same. He bought her a pair of wedding shoes and is excited about wedding traditions.

Edgar goes to talk to Jimmy, telling him that Gretchen has an important event tonight and he doesn’t even know about it. He says they need to and should be more involved with each other’s lives, especially if they are getting married so soon.

Gretchen goes to the set of the event she is holding where she meets Lindsay (Kether Donohue) and her boss, Yvette (JoNell Kennedy). Gretchen is very stressed and needs to make sure the night goes right, which is a listening party for Sam’s (Brandon Mychal Smith) group and Nock Nock’s (Lou Taylor Pucci) new single.

Yvette brings Lindsay back to the office where Lindsay is suggesting they do all these crazy things because no one is there. Yvette says while Lindsay is amusing, she truly has to get to work. Lindsay gets her to join in when she suggests they raid the fridge for leftovers.

While Edgar and Jimmy are on a walk, Edgar tells Jimmy he can admit he is scared to get married. Jimmy deflects this.

Gretchen has to come to terms with the fact that Sam and the boy’s verse on the track isn’t as good as Nock Nock’s version. She tells them and they think that no matter what their fans will like it. Then, they say Nock Nock’s verse should just be cut. Gretchen goes to tell Nock Nock this and that they won’t be playing the track. He says if she chooses to do that then he won’t stay with her company.

Hours later Yvette and Lindsay are getting along greatly and talking. Lindsay confides in her that she just wants someone to love her and soon. Yvette tells Lindsay she should stop looking for who to be because she already is who she needs to be. She then kisses her.

Gretchen Facetimes Jimmy and says she doesn’t know what to do because if she doesn’t figure this out maybe she can’t figure their wedding out. She doesn’t know whether to play the version with or without Nock Nock. She rants to Jimmy who assures her she will figure it out. Edgar insists he go help her because if not she will probably do something dumb.

She tells the DJ “play that one.” There is no indication of which one she requests for him to play. She passes Nock Nock and the boys on the way out and then grabs a drink. Jimmy and Edgar show up.

In the middle of it Edgar asks her what Gretchen said when Jimmy confronted her about the pills. Jimmy says he didn’t because they don’t do this and this isn’t old depressed Gretchen. He says that she is fine.

Nobody knows which version is going to be played and things get tense between the boys and Nock Nock on stage. Gretchen goes into hiding, on a lift conveniently close to a fire alarm, which she sets off. Water rains down causing everyone to run out.

Lindsay and Yvette seemed to have had a good time and Lindsay asks her to hang out again. Yvette answers the phone and gets the call about the possible fire.

Gretchen is soaking wet and leaving the venue with everyone else. She takes off her shoes, the wedding shoes, because they were bothering her.
