Q) “Maybe We Do” is a song many of us can relate to on some level. Was it inspired by a specific experience or about relationships in general?

A) I was driving down the interstate in Nashville heading to a session and kept saying “maybe we do, maybe we don’t” over and over again. I brought it to my co-writers, Melissa Fuller and Brett Truit. We talked about the early stages of a relationship and how it can be insanely exciting but also equally terrifying if the relationship works out or not. Learning to let go and trust the process of dating is hard to do, especially when you’ve been in relationships before. This song was written to bring hope and excitement to the start of something new and give it a chance that it may work out.

Q) Did you expect the song to get such a positive reaction so soon?

A) Knowing my fans and how they have responded to songs in the past, I was excited to get this one out and into the world. From the day we wrote it I knew it was something special and I played the demo for anyone that would listen to it. We had the tracklist for the album before I even wrote it and then switched out a song to make “Maybe We Do” a single release for the album. It was such a fun, honest, vulnerable write and those are the songs that my fans gravitate towards the most.

Q) The music video for “Maybe We Do” is simple, yet powerful. What was the inspiration behind it?

A) I wanted the video to be simple and intimate. I wanted to capture a performance video that was as easy and conversational as possible. I wanted to incorporate the outdoors because that’s where I feel isolated and with my own thoughts. This song was really personal and vulnerable, and I think Emma Golden brought it to life in the perfect way.

Q) Other than being scared/excited to be in relationships, in what ways do you hope fans relate to the song?

A) More than being scared/excited I want fans to know they are not alone. Oftentimes I write from the perspective hoping that I’m not alone in these situations the songs talk about. I’ve been able to curate a community of fans that I can relate to and it’s super special to see. Hopefully this song gives some encouragement and excitement towards their relationships.

Q) You have millions of streams on Spotify. How does it feel to have this much support from your fans in such a short period of time?

A) It’s overwhelming at times to see how fast it has grown, but I keep a tight circle of friends and family that have been there since the beginning. And other than looking at social media and Spotify my life hasn’t changed a whole lot. [laughs] It’s exciting to see people catching on to the music I’ve been working on for the last few years. My only hope is that my music reaches as many people as possible. Very exciting to see how far this has come.

Q) Over the past year you have released several singles. Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) A collection a single plus five new songs came out on October 6. It is my debut project called Mr. Nobody.

Q) What are some of your favorite songs that you still love performing live?

A) We’ve created a really cool moment for “Maybe We Do” during the live show. It’s my favorite moment of the set. Makes me feel like I’m singing in my living room at home. [smiles]

Q) You are about to go on tour with The National Parks. How were you approached to work with them and are there plans for collaborations in the future?

A) I was walking out of the gym earlier this year when my manager gave me a call to tell me I was going on tour with TNP. I have listened to this band for years and I’m so honored and excited to be on the road with them!

Q) What cities are you most looking forward to seeing on tour and why?

A) I’m excited to head up north on this leg of the tour. I feel like I have so many fans in Boston, Chicago, DC – cities I’ve never had the chance to play before!

Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

A) I couldn’t do this without you guyssss! The love and support this year alone have been incredible. The response to all of the releases makes me so excited to get in the writing room and record more records. Big plans for 2024.
