Allison Scagliotti – More Than Words

By  |

.  What are some of the recent projects that you’ve been working on?

A.  Well, I just recently completed the final episodes of the Niceklodeon series “Drake & Josh,” which was an absolute blast.  Back in March I played a high school hostage in an episode of “One Tree Hill.”

Q.  You’ll be seen in the upcoming movie Read It and Weep.  What can you tell us about the premise of the film and about your character?

A.  In Read It and Weep, an introverted teen’s world is turned upside down when her private, personal diary unwittingly becomes a best selling novel and she is plunged into overnight stardom.  Now, I play Sawyer Sullivan, the ultra popular queen diva of the school whose self serving, arrogant and one of the stories many antagonists.

Q.  What made you want to be a part of this project?

A.  I think it’s important, especially in children’s television, to send a positive message to your target audience.  Read It and Weep has a lot to say about being true to yourself.  That’s often an unfortunate dilemma for many teens.

Q.  Do you have a most memorable moment from working on this film?

A.  Wow, yeah, we filmed the project last fall in Utah.  I will never forget the beautiful Thanksgiving dinner our executive producer Don Schain put on for us.  The whole cast was sent to an exquisite restaurant in a scenic area of Utah.  We really had a lovely time, but best of all I made some lasting friendships that I’ll value for a long time.  I’ll take that with me.

Q.  Why should viewers take the time to check out Read It and Weep?

A.  I hope that Read It and Weep will teach kids the importance of staying true to yourself and never compromising what you believe in no matter where life takes you.  No matter what curve balls are thrown your way.  And, like you said, I really think that the movie shows the impact of strong family relationships.  The impact that it can have on a teen.

Q.  You have a great comedic timing.  Is this something that comes naturally or are you constantly working on it?

A.  Thank you so much.  I think both are true.  Comedic timing can definitely be an inherent trait but one must always flex their creative muscles and stay in comedic shape.  It’s important to practice your craft regardless of natural ability.

Q.  What makes working with the Disney channel so appealing?

A.  It’s fun, just a lot of fun.

Q.  What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

A.  In my spare time, I will let you know when I find some.  I’m kidding.  I love to play guitar, write poetry, read, spend time with my family.  I really just like to occupy myself with things that keep me creatively and educationally active.

Q.  Do you have a latest obsession? Are you into any particular book, music group, sport or activity?

A.  That really depends on what day you catch me!  It can be anything from sushi to new sunglasses to the next book that I check out at the library.  I’m reading To Kill A Mocking Bird for the second time.  The film is such a classic.

Q.  What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

A.  To the close friends and family who know the real Allison I say thank you for all of the love and support that keeps me going.  To the fans I didn’t know I had, thank you so much for watching.  Always follow your dreams and never give up.  It doesn’t seem that long ago that I was in middle school drama class daydreaming about being on Broadway.  Hard work will pay off.
