Q) What is your songwriting process?

A) One of the reasons I fell in love with songwriting is because the process is different every time. One day you could have a full chorus in your head by the time you sit down and the next you could simply pick up your instrument and start playing a few chords until something comes to mind. Sometimes it just takes a random burst of inspiration at 2am.

Q) What was the inspiration behind your new single “Still Yours?”

A) “Still Yours” paints the picture of a past relationship that you think you’re over until your subconscious leaves you dreaming about them. I think it’s okay to be over someone and still think about the impact they’ve had on you.

Q) How did the process of writing “Still Yours” compare to other singles you’ve written in the past?

A) I woke up one day with the chorus to “Still Yours” ringing in my head. I immediately picked up my guitar and started singing, “I picked up all the pieces that you left, but when I’m dreaming, you come running back to me like you never meant to leave….”  Almost instantaneously, I had the chorus down. Without hesitation, I knew this was going to be a special song, so I brought it to my very talented co-writer and we finished the song within an hour.

Q) What is the biggest takeaway that you hope listeners get from this song?

A) As with all my songs, I hope that listeners understand that they are never alone and that their feelings are always valid. Since releasing “Still Yours,” I’ve received hundreds of messages from people telling me how much they love, feel and relate to the words I’ve written, and that is one of the biggest compliments you can receive as a songwriter.

Q) How has the lockdown impacted you creatively?

A) Without question, the situation we are experiencing now has been extremely difficult on many different levels for everyone. In face of these trying times, I have found that I’ve actually had more time in recent months to focus on music and truly hone in on my craft. I’ve taken up dozens of Zoom collaborations, which have led me to more opportunities and the ability to work remotely alongside extremely talented individuals from all over the world.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) I am inspired by many different artists and songwriters, my co-writers and friends included. As far as musical influences go, I would say that Taylor Swift has had the biggest impact on me as an artist and songwriter. I always have and always will be inspired by Taylor Swift from the words and melodies she writes to the everlasting impact she has had on the music industry.

Q) Who would you love to collaborate with on a future project?

A) There are so many talented artists I would absolutely love to collaborate with on a future project! If I had to choose one, I’d definitely say Taylor Swift.

Q) With lockdown currently putting concerts on hold, do you have any plans for live streaming performances?

A) Yes! As much as I miss live shows, I love playing my music on live streams. I try to go live as much as possible on my social media, so make sure to follow me on all platforms!

Q) Is there a full album or EP in the works and if so, what can you tell us about it?

A) There just might be a new single coming soon… Stay tuned!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of your music?

A) There are no words to describe how thankful I am for the fans that support my music. Thank you for all the kind messages. Thank you for sharing with me how you relate to the song. Thank you for adding my music to your playlists. Thank you for the incredible support and love you’ve shown “Still Yours.”
