Q) Please tell us the premise for A Chance Encounter.

A) Two Americans randomly meet in Sicily while they are currently struggling with the artistic process of creating something. They’re coming from two different starting points, but they find comfort in the struggle and learn about themselves and each other while finding their voice.

Q) What came first, you taking the role of Josie Day or your songs for the soundtrack?

A) The songs.

Q) Was there something about Josie or the film premise that made you want to be a part of it?

A) I liked the idea of writing a soundtrack and also wanted to spend some time working on something that wasn’t as creatively lonely as writing an album. Making a film with a bunch of friends seemed like a nice change up.

Q) Did you add anything to the role that wasn’t in the initial breakdown for her?

A) Not really. The music was really what I added to her role.

Q) There is such great chemistry between you and costar Paul Petersen. Did you all do a chemistry read or did you find you just had instant chemistry when you stepped on set?

A) We had been friends for a long time before shooting the film.

Q) Speaking of set, filming in Sicily had to be incredible! Where were some of your favorite sights to film?

A) It was incredible! I loved the day we drove to Savoca, especially but all the locations were stunning.

Q) You also wrote ALL of the songs for the film. Were you inspired by the script or did director Alexander Jeffery walk you through certain moments he’d like to see as songs?

A) I read through the script and then wrote the songs based on what they were described as in the script. The last song “time and space” I wrote after we had finished shooting.

Q) The songs were co-produced by you and your brother David. Did the two of you come up with the lyrics first and then work on melodies or vice versa?

A) Co-producing takes place after the songs have been written. I wrote the music and lyrics and then took the songs to David and told him the vibe I was going for on each song. He then arranges the songs to fit that vibe.

Q) What do you hope viewers take away from watching A Chance Encounter?

A) I hope they feel inspired, and I also hope they get into the music.

Q) What is next for you? Will there be more film work or music to come soon?

A) I’m going to work on my annual Christmas show and start recording my next record this winter.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of you?

A) Thank you for the support!
