Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Deep Sensual Electronic music

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) FKA Twigs, James Blake and Kehela are some of our combined inspirations and definitely influence our sound.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Found.”

A) “Found” is a reclamation of the power that can only be harnessed from within. It is an ode to anyone who has ever felt lost, confused or like they don’t fit it.  It is a reminder that we can always be found within ourselves and within the receptive energy of nature and earth.

“I wrote these words during a time where I very much felt lost, and noticed myself seeking external validation, finally remembering that the truest endorsement can only come from within me.  I also noticed that as I deepened my relationship to nature and the elements, I felt my depth and self-confidence expand, the sacred alive within me and all around me.”

Q) How did you and Quiet Son come to team up for this track?

A) I started this song over five years ago. It felt really powerful to me and yet it was a challenge for me to “find my flow” with it.  Once I met Quiet Son, I played it for him, and he started to work his production magic and really took the song to a whole new sonic level.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) People have said that it allows them to feel both peaceful and feel their power.  The song is a reminder that we can always “come home” to ourselves and I think the message resonates widely.

Q) The music video is super stunning! How does it play into the message behind it?

A) Thank you.  We worked with an incredible team known as Earth Based Media who really helped us bring the song into visual form.  The video shows woman in nature finding reclamation through the mirrors of one another and the power of nature.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) I write and create in multiple ways. Sometimes it starts with lyrics, sometimes with music.  I continually try to challenge myself to explore the infinite ways in which songs can come through.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I’ve been producing music for more than eight years and while I still have so much to learn, I think the understanding of music production has truly supported me in my collaborations.  Quiet Son does most of the production for this project, but he also includes me in that process and I’m grateful that I’ve taken the time to learn so that I can have more agency in the songs that I am helping to birth.

Q) Will you be releasing a full album or EP – whether on your own or with Quiet Son – in the near future or are you focused on releasing singles for the moment?

A) Quiet Son and I have been working on music together for over a year and we are super excited to share that we have a full-length album completed.  We are truly delighted to share more of these songs with the world soon.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) Personally, I love performing at festivals because the energy of the audience feels so open and ripe with magic.  Quiet Son and I have played some really sweet shows and I think some of our combined favorites have been at Trilogy in San Diego and The Midway in San Francisco.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Great question!  I really love the lead singer of Tora and it would be a dream to collaborate with him.  I also have some things in the works with people I admire locally and will be sharing more about those collaborations soon.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) My friend Bria’s band Siika has a new album and it’s really incredible!

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) I think there are a lot of crunchy and difficult aspects of social media, but I also believe it’s still an incredible outlet for connecting music with community and feel really grateful for that!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) We couldn’t do this without you, and even if we could, we wouldn’t want to.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
