Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) weird, storytelling, trippy

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Carole King, Stevie Nicks, Grace Slick

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Choirs.”

A) I wrote “Choirs” when I was feeling a lot of pressure from every direction and every different kind of person. “Choirs” was my way of dealing with all the voices in my head… giving them names and then deciding which ones to listen to.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I don’t know. Maybe just the honesty? I think we all feel a little bit like weirdos. It feels good to embrace that.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The video honestly is as much of an acid trip as the song is. [laughs] I think they complement each other really well.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) Every day is different, honestly! Sometimes I’ll have a lyric in my head and I’ll start there, but a lot of times it starts with me just sitting at the piano and going!

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) A lot. I watch over every sound. I was a production major in college so I’m super particular.

Q) What can fans expect from a live ASHE performance?

A) A lot of wack dance moves and a damn good time. [laughs] I’m up there smiling for most of it. It’s always a really beautiful, good time.

Q) What songs off your The Rabbit Hole EP are you looking forward to performing live?

A) My favorite to perform live is “Sometimes People Suck.” That one for some reason really connects with people and makes it feel like we’re all a family.

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from listening to your new EP as a whole?

A) Shoot, I hope they feel really heard and understood. I hope they feel like they’ve gained a new friend and that they really start getting to know me – the good, the bad, the ugly.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I love playing in Chicago. Chicago turns up, but I have to say my favorite show to date was in Santa Cruz. I’m from The Bay area so it feels like coming home.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) POST MALONE. and or/ John Mayer (marry me John)

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I’m stuck on Daniel Caesar’s Freudian right now

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) I just think it’s the only place I can say exactly what I want, and it can’t be misinterpreted by a interview or anything. It’s a place of honesty for me.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) THANK YOU SO MUCH! I CAN’T DO THIS WITHOUT YOU xx
