Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) In a few words, I’d say melancholic, dreamy but also uplifting.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) I guess it changes throughout my career and at different points in time. However, right now, I’m feeling inspired by Fred Again, Imani and Ben Böhmer. All three are really carving their own sounds.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Broken.”

A) I actually made this song about one year ago when I was having a super rough time. I was going through a toxic relationship and was stuck in that exhausting situation. Many people can relate to this feeling. “Broken” is about breaking out of this situation, dealing with it, and accepting the emotions faced in the process.

Q) You are a part of social media. What kind of response have you been receiving to the track?

A) I’m super glad that people love and understand the song. The support from people who listen to my music gives me so much motivation and energy to produce even more music and try out new sounds and textures.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The music video is all about capturing the melancholic vibes of the song and the internal processing. We shot it in Berlin, and I think we did a good job on that one.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) Yes! I always start with the instrumental first. I mostly just jam around with chords until I catch the vibe of the melody and start writing something over the top of it. For me, lyrical inspiration comes from the world around me, my feelings at that time, and how I interpret it all.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I do everything – a one-man band you couId say. I produce all my songs from start to finish and I use my own vocals, so my songs really do feel personal to me. I do however love collaborating with other producers and artists. It’s really fun and creative.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) Very near future! I’m going to release an EP this year which is very exciting. The first track from the EP is called Where Did You Go and it’s a collaboration with Magnus. This dropped on 28th April!

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) There is a big festival in my hometown, and I played there last year and mostly all of my family members and relatives were there to watch me perform. It was such a good feeling to see how proud they are.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Rufus du sol, Ben Böhmer and Elderbrook. Working with these guys would be awesome! They’re incredibly skilled and talented.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) Kaytranada and Aminé just released their new project together “4EVA” featuring Pharrell Williams and I really love it.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) It means the world to me to see that people like my music. I will keep growing and give all the people the best I can. I have a feeling this is going to be a really fun year. Much love xx
