Q) For anyone who is just finding your music, how would you describe your sound?

A) High energy, 80’s influenced indie pop.

Q) I want to congratulate you on the release of “Are We Are We Not,” it’s an amazing song. I absolutely loved it. Tell us a little bit about what inspired it.

A) Thanks, I really appreciate the compliment!  The inspiration came when I told our producer, Mike Green, about the breakup I’d had with the guy we had previously written “Closure” about.  I explained that we wanted to stay friends and still played video games and exchanged memes from time to time.  Mike took that to mean we might still have a chance, thus “Are We Are We Not.”  I disagreed, but the topic fit perfectly with the song, so we wrote about the situation before the relationship instead of after.

Q) What is it about “Are We Are We Not” that you believe makes listeners relate to it so much?

A) It’s frustrating feeling so close to someone, but not knowing if they feel the same.  The song addresses the situation where you are interested in someone as more than a friend, but neither side really knows where they stand.   I think this is more common than people realize.  There’s even a Korean word for this situation.  Sometimes you just want to snap and tell them how it is.  I think the punchy feel of the song in lyrics really captures that feeling.  Love is a pretty universal topic, but “Are We Are We Not” takes a snarkier, tongue and cheek approach to it.

Q) You just dropped your EP Always in December. When you think back to the early stages of creating your EP and now having it released, what are you most proud of?

A) We were honestly just excited to have new music out in the world and we put a lot of hard work and love into the project.  It was our first time writing and producing in LA and we picked up a lot of new ideas and approaches to songwriting while there.  I know, personally, my vocals have come a long way and some of the parts on the project would have been out of my range even a year prior.  It was also really exciting to see Always” break 100k and now 200k streams.  That’s way more than we could have imagined for a first release.  People are re-discovering some of the other songs from that EP, which is exciting to see since we love them all.

Q) “Are We Are We Not” is the first release set for 2021 and you just released “Looking For A Friend.” What can you tease about feature releases?

A) Some high energy, fun, summer anthems, some darker, vibey tunes and even Alex singing lead on some tracks.

Q) Since we are still in a pandemic, has it impacted you creatively?

A) The downtime from touring has given us time to songwriter and produce, so we’ve built up a good catalogue of songs.  It’s nice to have songs ready to go, but at the same time we’ve used up a lot of ideas with not much new inspiration due to everything being closed.  We still manage, but it takes a bit longer to come up with topics.

Q) As siblings, what has it been like to take this journey with each other?

A) It’s been a lot of fun.  We get along well, understand each other’s humor and have made a lot of great memories because of it.  Sometimes we get tired of Alex wanting to only eat Mexican food on tour and Evan sometimes gets tired of me sending him the worst memes I can find, but other than that, it’s a good experience.

Q) Today there are many ways for listeners to keep up to date on releases, you’re a part of social media, how has it been to see all the fan’s reactions to your music so instantly?

A) It honestly blows my mind sometimes.  Spotify for Artists has a feature where you can see how many people are listening to your music at that exact moment.  The fact you can even do that is crazy, but it’s even cooler to keep coming back and seeing that number steadily rise with each release.  We love the fact that fan reaction has been so positive.

Q) What is the message you want listeners to take away from your music?

A) Hope has been a consistent theme in our songs.  We want people to feel pumped up and energized after listening to our music, so I think those feelings go hand in hand.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of you and your music?

A) Thank you, you guys are awesome!  Stay tuned, we’ve got a lot more in store for you!
