The episode starts with Ryan (Javicia Leslie) writing a letter to Kate. She tells her that today´s the day she dies, but she´s not scared of death – she´s scared she did not lived. This letter parallels one that Alice (Rachel Skarsten) is writing as well. She says that today´s the day she kills her as she has been waiting for eleven years to find her but instead Ryan found her. They both have been changed and inspired by Kate in more than one way.

Ryan is trying to inject herself with adrenaline and cortisone, but Mary (Nicole Kang) walks in just in time to stop her. Ryan says twenty-four hours is all she needs to get to Coryana, find the desert Rose and Kate and then come back. Meanwhile, Luke (Camrus Johnson) is giving Sophie (Meagan Tandy) Alice´s location, but Sophie asks why isn´t Ryan delivering that location. Luke tells her she´s sick after being shot at with a kryptonite bullet.

While Sophie and Jacob (Dougray Scott) try to track Alice they are intercepted at a parking lot and are taken by Safiyah´s (Shivaani Ghai) men while the bat team watches. Ryan decides that they have no other option, so she injects herself with adrenaline to go after them.  Before leaving she asks what happens if she returns with Kate what that means for her as Batwoman. Mary can only say that she really wants her sister back and that she does not know what it means. Ryan also trusts her with taking care of her plant in case she does not make it back. So, she needs to make a drop into a bullseye from a plane, which she learns from Luke over comms. It is super tense because for starters she´s never been on a plane before and also she cannot miss the jump or she will be instantly killed. However, she makes it and lands right in front of the Desert Rose field, along with some of Safiyah´s army.

At Coryana Safiyah greets Alice and says that she kept her and Ocean (Nathan Owens) apart because she believed Alice was a bad influence on him. But Alice just asks for her sister so she can also kill her, all while Jacob and Sophie are being held hostage. Tatiana (Leah Gibson) tells them that they are exactly where they wanted to be and that Alice also wanted them to be there to be witness killing Kate but she gets distracted and Sophie is able to take her out.

Safiyah´s trying to kill time for some reason and it seems to be because she wants to find out why exactly Alice wants to kill Kate. It seems she´s been fantasizing about killing her sister since she locked her up in Arkham, so nothing can change her mind. Before they´re on their way Tatiana walks in with Batwoman who yells to make sure Safiyah knows Ocean may not be her boy. She pulls his face and uncovers the truth, that it is just a body on the table and not her actual brother. She takes Alice to the same cell as Batwoman.

This leads to a conversation between the two of them. Ryan tells her that she´s the one that put the tracked on her boot to stop her from killing Kate, but she somehow figures out that Alice is terrified and that perhaps she does not want to kill her sister. Well, not really. She just wants her back. Before they finish that conversation Safiyah walks in and grants Batwoman a wish, the Desert Rose or saving Kate. But Ryan knows Alice won´t kill her so she chooses the Rose for herself. Before anything plays out she brings Ocean in so Alice can complete her part of the deal, killing him in order to get Kate. She hesitates, but kills him in the end.

Back at the Wayne mansion Mary is trying to keep Ryan´s plant alive ,but someone from Safiyah´s many armies walks in and tries to murder them. Although they fight as long as they can, Mary smashes the plant on their head which takes her out immediately but falls on the plant. Mary wants to retrieve it, but the assassin wakes up. On their way out Julia (Christina Wolfe) walks in to knife her right on time. She comes with news…bad news. She hired a team to run some leads and they found body parts. They ran the DNA and it was Kate´s. She´s dead…or so we think.

So, Safiyah never had Kate. It turns out she just tricked Alice. She just saw an opportunity to make her and Ocean pay for their betrayal. This takes us to him again. He´s alive once Safiyah takes the dagger out of him and puts it into Tatiana instead. She´s the one that framed her for blowing up Kate´s plane.

At the end of the episode Alice burns down the Desert Rose Field leaving Safiyah without anything, too. While Ryan is watching, Sophie finds her laying on the ground. She tells her that Kate was never on the island. This goes to the last scene, a body above a sewer with a red necklace. We can barely recognize it because of the bad shape is in, but it´s Kate. Apparently, she is still alive.
