The episode starts with Batwoman (Javicia Leslie) chasing the high face society – the ones distributing this new drug called snakebite. A news reporter is live on the scene as Batwoman catches them and asks who Black Mask is, but they don´t tell her. She then turns to the camera saying she´s coming for him.

Then, we get sort of a flashback to Jacob Kane (Dougray Scott) when he went looking for Beth (Ava Sleeth) at August Cartwight´s (John Emmet Tracy) house, but this time he finds her. It turns out he was hallucinating after being injected with snakebite. We go to the Batcave where Luke (Camrus Johnson) and Ryan are trying to figure out who Black Mask is, but still nothing. She says she´s late for visitor hours, so she goes to prison to see Angelique (Bevin Bru). Ryan insists that she confesses so that Angelique can walk free, but Angelique does not support the idea and leaves the visit. However, she returns to see her a second time and convinces her to give her the names of the shooters. Ryan goes to Sophie and gives her the names. She says she´ll run them and try to get Angelique out of prison.

The next is at the Community Center where Ryan is helping. It turns out her and Mary (Nicole Kang) are secret investors, but not so secret anymore after Jordan (Keeya King) shares with the community. This is interrupted by Horten Spence (Jaime M. Callica) from the “Gotham Gazette” asking about security and the place being a target, but he is reminded by Imani (Samantha Cole) that they are only a target by budget cuts and that he should write a story about that instead. Jordan later introduces Imani to Ryan. She´s the director of the tutoring program and their conversation is interrupted as well by someone wielding some sort of a lighting gun in the words of Vesper Fairchild (Rachel Maddow).

At the crows headquarters Julia (Christina Wolfe) and Sophie (Meagan Tandy) are trying to figure out why Julia cannot remember anything about being in Madrid, Monaco and Valencia. However, she receives a message going to a Penny Dreadful. She says it unfortunately means something and goes to look for Alice (Rachel Skarsten). Sophie asks Julia to be her partner and if she helps her she will leave Gotham forever. Sophie is looking for Enigma (Laura Mennell), but Julia´s never heard of her. She turns out to be Evelyn Rhyme, a consultant for the crows.

Ryan goes to Horten at first as the bat team think he had something to do with the attack, but it turns out he was investigating those same attacks as they have been happening for a while now at different communities, specifically with programs with at risk youth. Although, someone else shows up with a lighting gun attacking both of them. Ryan as Batwoman takes him to Mary´s clinic, and, thankfully, he´s going to make it.

The bat team discovers that someone from the prison is letting criminals out to target community centers in exchange for early parole. .He´s the Edgewater correctional CEO Ellis O´Brian (Derek Morrison). He personally signed off in all early release. Black Mask (Peter Outerbridge) shoots more traitors then goes to visit Jacob as Roman. He shows up with snakebite and gives it to him asking him to dispose of it, with bad intentions behind it.

Julia runs into Dr. Rhyme and asks her what they talked about a few months back, but she already knows she´s Enigma. However, before she can neutralize her Enigma injects her with something, making her forget again.

Batwoman pays a visit to the prison´s CEO, but a lot more people show up with lighting guns leaving her outnumbered. However, Luke arrives just in time with the same weapon they had to help her. Sophie goes to The Hold Up to tell Ryan that Angelique will be moved into protective custody. Ryan talks to her on the phone; however, the car she´s being transported in gets intercepted by men in masks and they take her.
