Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) My sound is a lot of things. It’s a lot of new things that nobody has heard before me. So, it’s very complex, raging and harmonic at the same time. It’s space music.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Lil Wayne, Erika Brady, Andre 3000, Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Lady Gaga, Marylyn Manson

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Kill Me.”

A) “Kill Me” really exposes my ego in an artist way. I feel sometimes that the vision I’m pushing and the amount of influence I’m changing is either gonna kill me or make me. And I’m fine with either outcome.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I’m pleading for fans to really see me and how deep this shit is on the record. I think that comes across and the fans get that.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) I literally created a visual representation of the whole vibe that record created. In the video it shows me popping up on off my death bed and running down the street turning into a butterfly. That’s some extreme symbolism that matches the vibe and everything about the record. My fans have grown to expect crazy visuals from me, so at this point it’s necessary in getting the message across.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) It’s happened both ways. Sometimes I start off writing in my own time. Most of the time I’m in my element at the mic and I just catch vibes.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I work with some great people when it comes to producers. My sound commands strong production and a sense of direction. So, a lot of producers come into sessions with me knowing what type of vibes to create or play. As soon as I’m able to hear that beat with the right bpm I want or the right sounds and melodies, I can pretty much mold that record and use it to inspire the producers so they can build on it based off what I start doing vocally to the track.

Q) How has your life in Houston influenced you as an artist?

A) It’s has influenced a lot for me. It’s affected everything from the music I was hearing to how fast I talked. Now that I look back, I can see how that affected my music. Although I wasn’t born here and I’m like an alien in the music industry, OGs like Trae Tha Truth, Dj Mr Rodger and Michael Watts gave me nods and showed me love.

Q) What can fans expect from a live BILLYRACXX performance?

A) I consider myself as one of the original rangers. So, my live performance is chaos. I add a dope visual element to my performance that turns everything into a whole other type of vibe. It’s a real experience.

Q) What songs off your project Butterflies Part 1 can you tease that you’re looking forward to performing live?

A) “Be Clear” would have to be that one. I can’t wait to perform it live.

Q) What do message do you hope listeners take away from listening to this project as a whole?

A) I want people who hear this to be transcended. I want them to get the fact that wow this is fire, nothing sounds or looks like what I’m creating through my art. I want them to see we lit and we did it without compromise.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I don’t have a favorite place yet. There are still a lot of places I need to see in my life. I’m on my way.  London was crazy though.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Lil Wayne, Rick Ross

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) Butterflies Pt. 1 because I can’t help it. I listen to my own music over and over.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) I wasn’t on social media before I was an artist. So, social media has always been a challenge for me. The fact that my fans are becoming more attached to the art I put it out, it’s making it easier and more comfortable for me to show them other sides of me. When you become someone’s favorite artist, they want to feel like their right there with you. I’m learning how to give them that because I got mad love for my fans man.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Please keep rocking with me because you really about to watch me turn into a superstar. I never sold out or compromised this influence or clout.
