Remi (Jaimie Alexander) shoots at Kurt Weller’s (Sullivan Stapleton) approaching car, forcing it off the road. Earlier that day, Patterson (Ashley Johnson) asks Edgar Reade (Rob Brown) why he and Matthew Weitz (Aaron Abrams) need fake passports. Reade explains their off-the-record operation to capture Tasha Zapata (Audrey Esparza) before the CIA and promises to bring her back in handcuffs this time.

Rich Dotcom (Ennis Esmer) plays the staff a doctored video of Patterson complimenting Rich. Patterson informs the team that she didn’t say any of it, and Rich explains he used a program to fake someone’s voice. In Mexico, Zapata encourages Madeline Burke (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) to let her handle the search for hacker Del Toro, but Madeline insists on staying.

Kurt Weller informs Patterson and Rich that Jane has reverted back to Remi, and Patterson concludes that it must be a progression of the zip poisoning. She questions how she missed this, and Weller tells them about Remi’s involvement with Violet (Hettienne Park) and the stolen money. Weller declares they have to reverse what’s happening to Jane, but Patterson tells him that this is unprecedented. Weller asks them to keep this between them, insisting that Jane is still in there.

Remi yells at Violet for her choice of escape vehicle, telling her there’s no room for error. Violet tells Remi to worry about Weller, and Remi has a temporary flash of pain. Rich is unable to find any details of Remi’s plan, and Patterson suggests she might have found an experimental memory restoration procedure on Roman’s data cache. She warns Weller that the procedure could be fatal, and that the name of the doctor who conducted it is redacted in the file. Their discussion is interrupted by a notification of an incoming missile, and Patterson confirms that an attack on New York is imminent.

Patterson tells everyone about the details of the missile and explains that the chance of stopping it is very low. Weller gives everyone instructions to save as many people as possible. He attempts to calm a panicked Rich, who declares that he needs to inform Boston Arliss Crab (Josh Dean) of what is happening. Through the conversation, Rich realizes that Boston is his soulmate and Weller leaves a message for Jane declaring his love for her.

Zapata gets notification of the attack on New York, but Madeline isn’t bothered by it. She asks if Madeline is behind it, reminding her that her family and the company’s headquarters are there. Madeline tells her that she isn’t behind it, and they pull out their guns. Zapata communicates with Miguel (Ricky Garcia) in Spanish, ordering him to arrange a meeting with his boss, Franco Cortez (Gianfranco Brero). Miguel warns her that Franco will kill them, but Zapata warns him he should be more worried about himself. Madeline shoots Miguel in the shoulder, and Zapata threatens to kill him if he doesn’t comply.

Rich calls Boston, informing him about the missile and declaring his love for him. Patterson shows Rich evidence that the missile report is inaccurate, and Weller tells them that the Navy says all of their missiles are accounted for. Rich declares that it’s War Games and determines that NORAD has been hacked. Patterson and Rich begin working to determine who is behind the hack, and they find that the hack is coming from inside the FBI. Rich follows the signal to the servers and pulls out the false ethernet cable plugged inside. He tells them he invented it and only two people have the cable, him and Boston.

Boston informs Remi that he’s lost access to the FBI server, and asks if he’s failed the test. She asks if he did everything she told him to, and he confirms he did. He tells her that he’s worried that his locking NORAD out of its system ushered in the apocalypse and goes to inform the FBI. Remi points a gun at him, and Boston realizes that he wasn’t working for the FBI. Boston freaks out about what he’s done, and Roman encourages Remi to kill him. Remi tells him she still needs him, and Boston asks who she’s talking to. Roman tells her that her symptoms are getting worse and urges her to kill Boston. Remi tells Violet that Boston is being a problem, and Boston insists he’s a solution. Violet tells Remi they need Boston, and Remi shoots off Boston’s ankle monitor before Violet ushers him out of the apartment.

Patterson informs Weller that Boston locked NORAD out of their system, and that only they can retract the missile warning. Weller tells Patterson to override Boston’s code, and tells her that Boston has disappeared. Rich shows them he’s tracked all of Boston’s work with the false ethernet cable as well as evidence that the cable was also accessed from the warehouse that Weller tracked Remi to. Weller declares that Boston’s co-conspirator is Remi, and Patterson realizes the false missile report is a diversion.

Boston tells Remi that he has hacked the traffic system to keep the lights green but asks for their destination. Remi tells him to stop fishing for information and threatens to kill him if he tries to contact the FBI. Boston asks what happened to her, but Remi insists she’s never been better as she has another flash of pain. Roman tells her that her condition is getting worse and promises to be with her until the end.

As Shepherd (Michelle Hurd) is transferred out of the black site, Patterson and Rich tell Weller that the files Remi had Boston steal involved CIA black sites. Weller realizes that Remi was looking for Shepherd. Rich points out she didn’t find Shepherd’s location, but Patterson realizes that she was able to find information that prisoners are transferred in the event of an emergency. Weller declares that he’ll warn the CIA of a potential ambush without revealing Remi’s involvement.

Cortez has his men point guns at Madeline and Zapata as he goes to meet them. Madeline introduces herself and tells him they have a business proposal for him. Cortez agrees to listen but threatens to kill them if he doesn’t like their offer. Madeline tells him what she knows about his work with Del Toro and offers to fix his cartel problem. Cortez asks how, but Madeline refuses to tell him until he asks his men to stop pointing their guns at them.

Remi gives Boston their final destination, and Boston offers to help her hack and forge on the run to convince her not to kill him. Remi has another flash and tells Roman that Sandstorm’s failure is her fault. Roman challenges her to make this day her redemption, assuring Shepherd will have a plan to cure her zip poisoning. Madeline proposes that she have the president in league with the cartel assassinated, but Cortez accuses her of wasting his time. Madeline tells him to check the news, and he sees that there was an assassination attempt on the president.

Madeline promises that the next attempt will succeed, and Cortez loves the idea. Madeline tells him they want access to Del Toro in return, and he agrees after requesting he hold Zapata as collateral until the job is done. Madeline offers two million dollars instead, and Zapata advises him to take the deal. Cortez agrees and tells Madeline that Del Toro is in Toronto. He warns them against surprises and toasts with Madeline to the deal.

Patterson and Rich successfully convey the false alarm message through the NORAD system, but Weller tells them that the CIA isn’t taking his warning seriously. He tells them they need to find Remi before she can carry out her plan, and Patterson suggests that Remi must still need Boston if she took him with her. She concludes that Boston is hacking traffic control and questions why there’s a string of yellow lights. Rich declares that Boston is leaving them a trail.

Remi has another flash as they plan to intercept Shepherd, and Roman warns her to keep it together. She and Violet stop the van and blow open the doors. As Remi grabs the keys to the handcuffs, Shepherd refuses to go anywhere with her, but Remi convinces her that she’s not Jane. Remi shoots at a guard as she escorts Shepherd away, but both Shepherd and Violet are shot. Shepherd begs Remi to leave her, but Remi tells her she didn’t go through all this trouble to watch her give up and tells her that Roman is behind her.

Shepherd sees nothing there and concludes that the zip poisoning is taking effect. Roman declares that he has to go, despite Remi’s pleading. Shepherd tells Remi they need to leave, and Remi finds Violet and Boston’s bodies on the ground. Weller drives up and Jane shoots the car, causing it to flip off the road. As Remi and Shepherd drive away, Boston gets up and goes to Weller’s car. Boston is relieved Weller is alive, and Weller asks him to help get him out of the car. Once Weller is free, he shoves Boston against the car and asks where Remi is. Boston tells him that he doesn’t know the rest of the plan.

In the interrogation room, Rich tells Boston that the camera is off, and Weller reminds him that it’s to protect Jane. Boston reminds them that he’s the victim and explains his side of the story. Rich reminds him of the damage he’s caused, but Boston tells him he wanted out of house arrest and reminds him he tried to help the FBI once he realized Jane’s intentions. Boston isn’t able to help them find Jane’s current location but tells them that Jane was talking to Roman.

Remi tells Shepherd they need to keep moving as she tends to her wound, telling her that they’ll rebuild Sandstorm. Shepherd suggests they disappear and abandon their plans. Remi tells her she needs her to get angry and that Roman and her need her to have a plan. Shepherd tells her Roman is dead, but Jane refuses to believe her. Remi tells her to return to the old Shepherd, but Shepherd tells her she’s gone. Remi slaps her, tells her to stand up, and be a soldier.

Madeline instructs Zapata to retrieve Del Toro, telling her she can do it on her own. Zapata sees Reade across the street and he chases her down an alleyway. Weitz points a gun at her and orders her to freeze as Zapata points her gun at him. Reade points his gun at Zapata and declares that she’s under arrest. He approaches her despite Zapata’s urging to walk away and tells her this either ends with her in cuffs or one of them dead.

Shepherd tells Remi that they can’t take on the FBI and CIA until she’s cured. She tells Remi that Roman was looking into a cure through a doctor named Calisto. Remi asks if she knew that the injection was fatal, and Shepherd tells her she did. Remi calls her out for withholding the information, telling her she still would have gone through with it if she knew. Shepherd reminds her that she didn’t expect her to stay with the FBI, and Remi tells her they can do this the right way this time as equals.

Rich tells Boston that he is going to be taken to prison, and he is upset that he’s the scapegoat for Remi’s actions. Rich apologizes, and Boston breaks down. Boston tells him that he thought they would end up together and declares his love. Rich declares that he knew it and starts laughing before telling him that he’s not actually going to prison. Boston gets angry and calls him a horrible human being.

Weller tells Patterson and Rich that Remi has disappeared before asking about the experimental procedure. Patterson tells him they can recreate it, but that they need Remi to be willing. Weller declares they’ll force Remi to do it, believing that getting Jane back is worth the potential risks. He asks how they’re going to find Remi and Rich makes a suggestion. Remi gets a message and Roman asks her to meet at the place she met Dolan, telling her to come alone. She shows up, but Weller meets her instead. Weller explains that they used Rich’s program to create a fake message with Roman’s voice and tells her she’s coming with him. Remi refuses, and Weller and Remi charge at each other.
